Swollen feet anckles : Hi ,does anyone... - Lung Conditions C...
Swollen feet anckles
I've been taking trimbow for a few years and do not believe it can cause swollen ankles. I take furosimide but it's for other reasons
Hi will ,I know feet can swell with heart failure, I've had a few tests on my heart nobody has told me that there is anything wrong ,maybe it is that ,I don't think so
I would suggest you make a telephone appointment with your GP to ask for the results of whatever tests you had on your heart. Then ask the GP to be very clear about what the results mean. When GPs are so pressurised these days we need to be proactive in chasing up our results.
I remember I had some kind of heart scan to see if I had leek ,I didn't, dont know if I have that right ,it was a heart scan for something and was told it was ok
I've had those swollen ankles come and go with COPD and emphysema - seeing a rheumatologist soon so hope to work out what's what. Follow up whatever heart test you had and let your GP or respiratory RGN know.
I've even had lots of spots, like measles ( I've had all the childhood jabs and two types of measles as a kid) appear on my legs/torso with the swelling of ankles. It was something to do with RA but the doctors are still trying to diagnose me.
I get swollen ankle s not all the time I'm on trimbow next inhaler copd but I'm also on candersarton for high blood preasure but because it's just now and again I don't bother mentioning it but side effects are possible it doesn't have to be in black or white on paper best to mention it docter
Reson I think it maybe inhailer is because I don't wee a lot ,and wonder if inhailer can cause this then indirectly cause swollen feet
If you don't "wee a lot" that is water retention and there are various causes - Hight salt intake, Certain heart drugs like Verapamil . It can also be some medical conditions - better seeing your GP to see if it possible could be your inhaler, or whatever reason it could be. Hot weather can cause swelling but that hardly a problem at the moment. You have had test and you don't know the results, well you really should find out. Take care and phone the docs.
If you are not peeing alot then this will cause fluid retention. Do you drink plenty of water/tea? I don't think it's to do with your inhalers...but related to heart possibly. You need to ask your doc the results of your tests. Sadly as we all get older our bodies/organs don't work as well.
I'm not on those inhalers.i do getswelling infeet, calves, thighs + abdomen.is always worse when Ill which is,in my case, due to additional strain on heart
I'm on trimbow but never had swollen feet etc from inhaler I do suffer on and off with swollen feet and legs tried same tablets as you take thr didn't help so I kept festing with my feet up x
Hi Alice I am not on those puffers but suffer from swollen feet ankles and legs but its from my blood pressure tablets called Cardizim, a bloody pain, I was told its caused by heart failure also, As far as not weeing I was on a puffer a few years back which caused that a very popular one but I cant for the life of me think of the name Ive gone blank it starts with an S and its not Seretide. It took over being used from Atrovent that was a 4 x a day puffer this one was only once a day. After a couple of days I virtually stopped weeing all together.
So yes that can be a side effect of some types of puffers. Sorry that I cant think of the name of it. But its definitely not the one your asking about.
speak to your GP and make him listen and dont hang up till you get the answers you need
take care
Hi Alice. If you’re on tablets to control your BP I would check them out with your doctor. My GP changed mine to a higher strength and my feet came up like balloons. Couldn’t wear anything but flip flops. She then halved the dose but the swelling continued so I said I wanted to go back to the original tablets and the swelling started to go down. She also gave me furosemide, which worked a treat.
Hi, I was tried on trimbow and felt like I had flu all the time and yes my ankles swelled. They do with certain antibiotics too. Did not have a good experience with it 😕 😉
Hi. I get swollen ankles and I don't use that inhaler. Mine get worse if I have too much salt in my diet and not enough fruit and veg - I can put on an extra kilo in water overnight.
So think about what you eat. If you eat too many processed foods that are ready to eat or to cook in the oven or microwave, or if you like salty foods, you may be adding to the problem.
Definitely check with your doctor, though, to make sure this gets checked out properly.
A blood pressure tablet gave me this problem. When I swapped to a different one, the swelling went away. Can't remember the name of the tablet.
Hi Alice. There is some great advice here. I will repeat only one, see your GP! Swelling can be a symptom of a number of ailments. Hope you receive an answer from your GP. Keep well xxx💗
Hi Alice, I have swollen feet, ankles & lower leg (been like it for about 8 months). Went to GP and he did blood tests which came back OK. Then sent me for a heart scan. I'm waiting for the results. Never thought it could be connected to inhalers (I have Fostairs and Ventolin). GP didn't mention it could be to do with inhalers either. Hope this helps. Take care xxxx
good day yes i get swallon ankle and rough feet i got copd at 59 i male had this for 11 years now thought i wood have past away by now see how 2024 goes all the best ghoust rider
I also taking Trimbow, but never associated it with my swollen feet and ankles. My gp has given my tables, which are doing nothing, have now doubled the dose, still with no effect. I think I am going to look into this more.Thank you for posting this to bring awareness to others. Best wishes
