Swollen feet
Hello! Are your legs/ankles swollen? your tummy swollen? Is it hard to breathe? Have you lost your appetite? Go to the Hospital..,Congestive Heart Failure. They need to get the many pounds of water out of you! I go thru this, it can be controlled! Hope this helps! Janet127
My lower legs and feet were very swollen once during a bad chest infection. I put it down to prednisolone at the time and lung congestion . I had it for 2 weeks despite having my legs raised. However I suggest this needs checking out ASAP and your legs need raising above heart level meanwhile. Hope it gets sorted soon 🤞
Your Swollen feet can be due to many reasons. Many of them are not COPD related. It is impossible to diagnose online as the symptoms could be related to cardiac function, lung function, circulation, kidney etc or it may not be related to any of them. The best advice would be to see your GP or ring 111.
A few people including myself have COPD and also swollen feet and legs. My GP has prescribed the water tablet Indapamide, which helps. Also, several of the meds I've been prescribed are potassium losing, so I have to have a low salt diet which reduces the amount of fluid I retain by at least 1 litre. As other posters have advised, do go back to your GP to find out why and get the most appropriate treatment.
Much advice is already given. Need to see your Gp or respiratory nurse. When I had swollen ankles my GP mentioned it could be the recent hot weather. Have a blood test for kidneys, potassium etc.
You really need to get this checked out, are you breathless too? Do you take water tablets? I would see your gp tomorrow or go to A and E, specially if your breathing is noticably affected.
Hi Roy
I suffered with this. To many Steroid tabs etc. Prendeslone, Prendislone. I decided to stop them on my own. And great no more swollen feet or legs.
My advice would be to ring 111 now and get professional advice if this is worrying you. I certainly would. Take care Jan x

I too have COPD severe emphysema, my ankles swell up for which my GP dispenses water tablets. Works better if you can get your legs up above the heart, not a pretty sight as you look like a wally. If it works what the hell.
