Another year has been and gone
Could it be my last?
I'm feeling pretty much the same
If anyone should ask.
Looking around at what's going on
Things look much the same
The obituaries that I'm reading
Do not contain my name
So off I go for another ride
On the rollercoaster of life
With Smudge my lovely rescue cat
Sitting where should be my wife
There's much I could complain about
But what good would that do?
With all you riding with me
We make a motley crew.

One of your finest Don and sums up much of where we oldies are. I can't help my mind racing each time you set up a rhyming couplet, asking myself, "how is Don going to crown this one?" or "how is he going to top it?". Like the cherry on the cake. It's all fun isn't it and for sure, you take us for a ride each time. A sleigh ride for sure.
Obituary is a funny word,
It's what one reads when dead,
I only hope it ain't me who's died
But someone else instead.

Beautifully written Don.. I remember when we looked forward to birthdays, but not now & like you I wonder if it’s my last.. but we soldier on in hope..
