as I lay awake in bed playing solitaire listening to my rasping chest, I think oh no, it’s that time of the year again. The trees are almost bare, Christmas adverts are on the tv, it’s hibernation time, time to avoid the crowds, stay home, keep warm, read a book, watch a crap movie.
Then the decorations come out, oh do I love that, the Christmas lights twinkling on the tree, our 1 year old Toby (patterdale terrier)trying to bite the baubles, the chaos he’ll cause. Then peace, drinking hot chocolate.
I love Christmas time

The lead up to Christmas is fun but I’m not a fan of winter. It’s a nice day today but we’re staying home as Pete can’t go anywhere because of his rib and back fractures. It will take a long while to heal due to osteoporosis.
At least I gave a blood test on Thursday so my daughter will take me and then we’ll pop into Sainsbury’s. It means I get out for a short while.
Oh dear rib fractures are painful, I too have osteoporosis so wishing him a smooth recovery. Nice that you can get out with your daughter too, my daughter took me out on Sunday just to hers but it was a lovely change of scenery and my husband then could go to his friends for the day. It’s just nice for my husband to have a break and I know my daughter does miss me although she pops in from work and calls me during the week on her lunch break.
You paint a nice picture of the run up to Christmas. I'll try to do the warm fire and hot chocolate thing between dealing with the inevitable family crises. xxx
Christmas is fine, shame the weather won't be. Our cats hate Christmas, eldest daughter brings her dog, so cats have to be put out ( For dogs sake) she. would try and lick them to death.
