Back to the Gym

I just wanted to share with you all how good it was this morning to get back into the gym.

I had an exacerbation two weeks ago tomorrow, my first one needing hospitalisation, at the time I thought I would never feel ‘well’ again.

Today I have had my first session at the gym having been discharged from the virtual ward on Saturday.

I could weep with joy at how good I feel.

This lifelong condition is manageable, I have received great support and now know the signs of problems and how to go about getting help when I need it.

I hope this live weather we are baby is helping to keep everyone’s spirits up.

have a great week.

Whoooo, well done you for getting back to exercising soon after your exacerbation. It makes such a difference when we can and pleased you have been able to go for it !

I recognise that feeling of “will I ever feel well again “ during an exacerbation… it feels grim at the time doesn’t it ?

Hoping you will be well for the months ahead…enjoy the gym.

Go well,

Pauline

I go to a ladies only session with small groups of up to 10 with an instructor! It’s all around strength and fitness- each session is different.

We do weights, cardio, and endurance.

I find this better than going to the hotel gym with no structure- I just find myself looking at equipment and thinking I don’t know what to do.

I also do reformer Pilates which is beneficial for core strength and helps a lot with breathing techniques that support physio routines!

Jumping on the post to say I prefer classes at my gym to the actual gym. I have some very knowledgeable instructors and have made some lovely friends.

Thank you, I might look into classes that might be more beneficial to me

Yoga is very good plus breathing plays big part in achieving and maintaining poses. I also enjoy pilates and zumba (I do it seated) is great fun.
