Bronchiectasis Conference.. A Vibration Plate was mentioned for loosening mucus…
I have tried a vibrating plate, more for fitness than loosening mucus. It made me dizzy, gave me a headache and I felt sick.
I Love my vibration plate and do 5 mins standing and 5 mins sitting 3 times x 10 minutes on it . I feel it does help with fitness now that you mention it I haven’t needed to use my device for getting mucus up. It is strange to begin with but building it up helps with balance 🙂
I have had one standing in the bedroom for almost a decade. Maybe it's time to try it again.
I have had Bronchiectasis for 30 years and try any tecnique I think will help. When struggling to clear my lungs I use a mixture of gravity, huffing and a vibrating pad which altogether work well. The pad I use is for a car seat but works OK laid flat. I lay on that and use huffing on my front and then on either side with chest slapping for the alternate sides. I carryn on until I feel sick but by then I have cleared a lot of mucus and can usually breathe freely. I hope my experience helps.
When my muck is difficult to shift, I get my wife to play our vibrating gun over my back, and this does help to make it easier to get up. The vibrating gun cost us £40 I think.
I am in United states and have a smart vest, it uses percussion to remove mucus and makes it come up very sucessfully , I use it twice a day and has prevented me from hacking and helped my breathing. Here medicare pays for it when recommended by respiratory doctor, do not know if it is available to you but if it is, certainly worth a try, feel has been a wonderful help for me also have 30% lung capacite and 76 years old Best of luck Mary Lou
