The dreaded virus.

Hi guys. Just to say the dressing is off. It accidentally fell off in my hand. 🤫😉🤗. It’s absolutely fine. You can see a Plastic surgeon did it. I’ve got a two inch what looks like a pencil line. So I’m pleased about that.

im not pleased that it’s Day 12 and I’ve still got Covid. It’s not on.

I went for a little walk up the path this afternoon but my goodness I do feel weak. Hopefully I’ll turn a corner soon.

I hope all of you are keeping reasonably well.

Good news about the dressing and pleased it looks fine. You will be negative eventually but just have to sit it out. Try and move when you can and rest too. I’m not surprised you feel weak and hoping you feel stronger in the coming days.

Lots of love. Xxx😘❤️💕🤗

Thank you Sassy. You’re so kind. I’m waiting for a call from the Dr. I’m going to ask him for the amytriptillan that he offered me. I get times like now that I feel like I’m being stabbed. I can’t believe shingles can be so painful. Xxxx😘💖🥰

Hope they work well for you. Can I just say though to read all info on amytriptyline carefully as they gave me tinnitus. Obviously many are unaffected but just take care. Shingles is painful. My dad had it down one side of his face. Xxx😘❤️🥰

Aww Thanks Hon. I’ve got to have something. I’ve been in agony all morning. The road digger doesn’t stop in my side.

My Mum had Shingles from her eye up over her head. She was in agony. It gave her one stroke after the other that the hospital didn’t even pick up on. She didn’t however survive it all.

I had the Shingles vaccination so I shouldn’t even have it. I think maybe it was when they first came out and perhaps they weren’t as effective as the new ones. It certainly needs a query.

How awful, your poor mum. Petes been vaccinated too but I’ll have to ask about mine. Nothing is certain I feel. Take care xxx

well don’t! I hope yours protects you better than mine have.

I had mine before anyone knew about the Shingles vaccine. I was asked if I would have it and I jumped for it knowing how bad my Mum was. I’m wondering now if it’s not as efficient as the ones of today.

You could be right. Time will tell.

Glad the dressing has come off and that the operation was a success. Sorry the covid is taking so long to go away. It's a peculiar virus- seems to affect everyone differently. It must be taking advantage of the stress your body has been under recently. xxx

So pleased the surgeon did a good job for you Mavary and it all looks ok. Just need to get rid of this blinking virus now. Are the tests you are using the ones that the nhs provide when younare classes as vulnerable or are these ones that you have bought or got free from the chemist. I only ask as I had a letter from the nhs to say I am vulnerable and they will provide a testing kit and wont accept results from any test other than their own, which makes me suspicious x

Mavary in reply to Izb1

my Son got the tests and they are NHS ones. X

Izb1 profile image
Izb1 in reply to Mavary

The ones I am waiting for are direct from the nhs and are sent through the post. I thought all these tests that the chemists provided in the beginning were from the nhs, i am beginning to wonder x

I don’t know. As I said my Son got mine and they do say NHS on them.

Pleased to hear that M, brilliant that they did a good job on it. Since my three to four weeks in bed with a horrible virus plus chest infection I'I've Been on the mend for a couple of weeks now. Pacing myself with little walks to rebuild muscle and lung stamina, iI'm up to two miles but get short of breath & ensure ventolin is in my pocket and I aim for parks with benches to sit - mind you, it's easier now the temperature has risen .

I'm sure you'll slowly rebuild just take it easy and pace yourself my dear. ××××× P

Thank you Hon. I’m sure that’s the way to go. Gently gently. I made a start yesterday. Once I get rid of being stabbed it should be better. Xx💖

Hi Mavary , sorry to hear the virus is playing havoc with your well being it does take some time to get over it. But good to hear your other health issue is coming along nicely. Take things slowly, take care and keep warm x

Take it easy and have plenty of rest, though it’s a good idea to do a little exercise where you can. I was positive for 21 days and I’m still building myself back up, unfortunately I got a chest infection that is lingering. Hope you feel better soon, it’s a very unpleasant virus. A friend sent me a lovely message I wrote on my message board ‘the days are getting longer and it will soon be warmer again, you are going to feel so much better soon’.

Aww! thanks Hon. 21 days I say banging I got my head on the table. It’s day 13 today so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Xx

Good news about your dressing, even better about the scar. When I had Covid I was infectious for 11 days. I had an antiviral infusion on day 4 so I don’t know if that reduced the time I was infectious. I hope you’re feeling better soon.

Thank you. It’s getting boring now. I’ve had antiviral tablets for a few days.I definitely think they’ve helped with the shingles. The redness has gone down a lot but I’m still getting the pain from it. I can’t say I feel 100% nowhere near.

Good news about your 'war wound', some surgeons are amazing. I had bilateral jaw surgery many years ago and the scars are invisible, three major tummy surgeries however have left their mark! You have a certainly got a clingy blighter of a covid germ there! I hope he clears off very soon.

it couldn’t resist me.🤣. Hopefully tomorrow it will be negative. X
