Help on breathing
I found my AeroBika extremely helpful when I had a bad infection. Doctors can prescribe them.
Could you please share how you got you doctor, to prescribe an Aerobika device, I requested one on my portal, never actually seen the doctor, and they prescribed me a spacer for my inhalers, lol, which I needed anyway.
I didn't actually ask the doctor for a device. It was one of the respiratory nurses from the Mid Essex team who requested it and a spacer. I was very ill at the time. I had been referred to the nursing team after my diagnosis and had completed a pulmonary rehab course not long before, so nurse Rachel knew me and came out to attend to my needs, although it was during lockdown. The AeroByka really helped to shift the phlegm. Incidentally, if you haven't been offered a pulmonary rehab course, ask for one. They are invaluable.
Hi my respiratory department nurse supplies me a Acapella device on every visit 6 months
Hi Bee, just to clarify because your post asked about breathing devices. The devices helpfully suggested by fellow bronchs are intended to help you loosen the mucus so that you can get rid of it scrupulously. Clearing your lungs will deprive the bacteria of the warm wet environment in which they like to breed and will help your breathing because with the mucus cleared, air can pass in and out more easily. I had an aerosure medic for years (expensive) but a physio gave me an aerobika last year which is free from the NHS and just as good.
