Bochdalek hernia

[Carsok]

I had a Bochdalek hernia on the right side and my liver was going into my diaphragm. That was found in 2017 and was operated on. They did a thoracotomy and had a two week hospital stay. Fast forward to 2022 and they now say it's back and the operation failed. (I will be 75 next month). Woke up yesterday and barely able to move my right side. I'm not sure if I slept wrong my my whole upper right side was painful to move. I was thinking it was muscle spasms and finally took a muscle relaxer and that helped some. I did go to Mayo Clinic and the head of Thoracic Surgery said he would not operate as they wouldn't be sure what they would find and could make it worse. I know this is very rare but was thinking maybe someone has had it or knows of someone who has it. It's usually noticed at birth but back in '48 it wasn't noticed. I'm sitting here now and not sure what to do. The muscle relaxer really messed with my stomach and I woke up at 3 in the morning with stomach pain (I tend to get stomach ulcers). Just venting a little while trying to see if anyone had anything similar. Thanks for any help.

I can't advise Carsok but wanted to wish you well. Has your doctor given any advice on what the treatment is for you going forward. It must be a worrying time for you and hope you can find some relief x

Thank you for your reply. I was having a procedure done today and the doctor gave me the name of a thoracic surgeon so I might go see him. Again, thank you.

I hope the procedure done today went well and you are feeling ok and maybe the the thoracic surgeon can give you some advice so you can move forward x
