Arthritis
There is a gadget for this purpose Alice. I'm sorry that I don't know the name of it but I'm sure that if you ask your pharmacist they should be able to provide one but I think there will be a charge. Someone else may come along with more helpful information.
I'm sorry about your diagnosis. My paternal grandmother had rheumatoid arthritis and I remember how much pain she had. That was a long time ago now and treatments have improved since.
Hoping you find something to help Alice. Wishing you well. Xxx❤️
Hello Alice
I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I have RA affecting my hands and it can certainly make taking my inhalers a challenge! I believe they do ones that are easier for us to operate. As CDPO says, one for the pharmacist I think. I’ll be asking mine next time I go down the road, as I’ve noticed it’s becoming more of a struggle as I’m getting older🙄
I hope they are able to give you treatment to help calm your arthritis.
Ask your chemist for a Haleraid, and take your inhaler with you so that they can check the one they offer will work. You should be able to get one on prescription but they don't cost a lot.
Thank you Ergend ,I'll see my chemist on Monday
Unfortunately the manufacturer of Haleraids, Allen & Hanbury, stopped making them a couple of years ago. I don’t know of any replacement, but as others have said, your pharmacist is the best person to ask
Hi Alice , sorry to hear your diagnosis. I would mention this to your rheumatologist, they maybe able to help with medication. I have just been through a flare up and can sympathise with your difficulties, although I am very lucky in that my r.a. is mild at the moment. Ask your gp for a Haleraid as Ergendl suggests they look like they could really help x
My inhaler is one that I lift the lid and inhale. I couldn’t work the ones that you press Have a chat to your asthma nurse/doctor and show them how difficult it has become for you. X
