Good morning and welcome to the forum!

You have more than your fair share to be contending with, but there are others here with similar issues and, hopefully, you may find the support here that you are looking for.

It sounds as though the COVID has been the main game changer for you. Life must now feel very different. However, many on here manage with quite severe lung conditions and still enjoy a good life.

I have Chronic asthma with fixed airways disease, Bronchiectasis, hiatus hernia with reflux, atial fibrilation and a few years ago was having the most awful vertigo attacks due to having Menieres Disease. I honestly thought my life, as I knew it, was over. Now, the vertigo has gone back into remission and, thanks to my lovely consultant, my chest problems are under control. I bought myself a mobility scooter in May and love it! I can't drive anymore due to the possibiltiy of vertigo (they are very sudden and without warning when they come) so the scooter has given me back a level of independence I hadn't dreamed of.

I have my life back!

Please don't give up hope. I'm sure there will be some light at the end of the tunnel for you too - it may just take a while to get there.

Meanwhile, keep popping on here and let us know how you're getting on. The folks on this forum are just wonderful!

xx Moy

Welcome to the site, Musicalways. I am wondering about your user name. Do you always play music, or perform music?

Hi Ergendi. I grew up playing piano writing music and being in a recorder orchestra , being a trained dancer and singing Gospel. I lost a lot of my talents but continued singing up until 2020 when becoming ill. Interestingly we visited Bridgewater theatre at the end of 2019 listening to a orchestra just before covid started. I now listen to music. It keeps my mind calm. 😜 Do you have an interest in music also? You can get carried awaytuning into classic fm. Help you to forget everything going on lol

Hi. I am a church organist and director of music at my local parish church. I also run a weekly singing for lung health group called Breathe Better Sing Together, where we use diaphragm singing as exercise, with professional singing exercises and graded karaoke songs from (mainly) the 60s and 70s. As we are not a choir, there is no requirement to sing 'well', just to join in and try to improve.

I love it. Can anyone join Ergendi or do you do this in person?

We do this in person, and never went online during covid due to the fun you can have with out of synch timing doing musical things over zoom. However, I did put up a few videos on my YuTube channel, mainly singing exercises as you can choose your own karaoke songs to sing along to after - there are thousands out there. youtube.com/channel/UCGvJ9E...
