Pulsating Stomach1

I've been having breathing difficulties for months. Lung hyperinflation, chest X ray says. Everything else normal, I mean Spiro, ECG, Echo. Chest feels tight, as if some pressure is on it, and because of it I can't take a full breathe, making me feel breatheless, always, without fail, worse at night. Much better in the morning thoI see my stomach pulsating rapidly, think of the heart beating really fast but this time it's the stomach. This concerns me greatly because my condition feels worse when it does that, and better when it goes back to normal

Anyone had similar conditions? What is it and I need to know what to do next thank you?

Hi Sniper, the only thing that comes to mind is reflux, either acid reflux or silent reflux. Ive read that while as we know with copd and asthma it is hard to breathe out, with reflux it can cause difficulty breathing in. Maybe check with your GP about that possibility. Acid reflux causes problems at night, while with silent reflux its worse in the day.

I've been to the hospital, diagnosis have been Inconclusive besides hyperinflated lungs

Is it possible to have lung hyperinflation without Copd/Emphysema or asthma?

My issue started after weeks of extreme anxiety. If that helps

I think you can get hyperinflation with asthma too. Makes sense as both asthma and copd make it hard to breathe out.

Alright so we're still not sure about a full diagnosis but I don't understand exactly why my breathing gets especially worse at night, always.

The doctors can't seem to figure it out. But without fail, shortness of breathe at night at bad. It's manageable during the day, however.

For instance, on some days I feel so much better I might as well not have any illness. And then evening comes and then it's the worst thing.

Is it possible anxiety steps in at night? Anxiety can affect yr breathing. " controlled breathing" techniques r worth reading up on,practise & use to help u. Hope u soon improve. Sometimes it's self management, whn no other option open for u x

I did have a very similar problems a while back, there were 2 things going on with me, one was acid reflux, the other was allergy to Soya, Soya which is in so much produce nowadays, really upsets my lungs...

Hi sniper670, I hope your doing ok.

I know your post is quite old now, I’m wondering if you’ve ever got to the bottom of the issue? My mum has severe copd but just recently has become very very breathless, as you describe the worst of the breathless episodes come on with what she calls ‘a bobbly feeling in her stomach’ she said it’s hard to explain but it sounds very similar. The respiratory people don’t seem very interested in the symptom.

Kind regards x
