Ging home tomorrow under the governmen t "ward clearage" scheme . Am a lot better but nobody nknows why crp persisted too long and weekend intervened so new doctor wasnt i nteŕested . Dont know how i will manage alone but thst has so benefits . Escape bullying from some of the aides, nurses are great on the whole and escape continuous music right beside door just 10 ft away . See what physios say when faced with 2 flights stairs . Handrails on both sides are a godsend . Have investigated home lifts already but it is a big expense .chair lifts are cheaper. Is it worth having reconditioned ones .?Does anybody know. ? 11 days tomorrow did hazvr the luxury of a private room . . Retired NHS staff but think i made the room looking untidy sitting on the one upright chair that suported my back - one of the rather smart new commodes, in first ward .i
In ea sy chairs , a rolled pillow under the front of chairseat improves that aspect. Like the beds the easy chairs bend in wrong places for my back .

Happy to hear you’re going home. I hope you manage the stair test. As long as you can cope on your own, home will be a much more restful place than a hospital ward. Let us know how you get on.
I am sure that you will recover better at home and be alot more comfortable at that, lets hope they put care in place so you manage that. I dont have much faith in the system, sorry to say. So make sure you get contact numbers if you need to chase up. One of my neighbours had a recon stair lift and they maintained it as well so if he had any problems they came out, it seemed to work well for him. Hope all goes well for today and you get home without any problems x
Do u have carers at home? If not, talk to sister before u agree to leave.u need some help.reconditioned chair lifts frm reputable local company are good.my parents had one x
Glad to know you have improved Jaybird. I hope you will have everything in place to help you manage at home and that you have a very decent Christmas. xxx
Good luck on getting home in one piece Jaybird and staying well too!
My mum had a starlit, it was really simple & quick to install (and uninstall), just a fold down seat fixed to a rail and a push button thingy attached to the chair. Thinking of you xx
I hope you go home with a proper care plan (formal, or informal through family and friends). You will no doubt enjoy the peace and quiet once back and lovely to be in control of things again.
I understand your comment about the bullying aides. I visited a friend in the stroke ward and one came in like a ship in full sail and proceded to be quite horrible, particularly to one old lady who clearly had dementia. I have never witnessed such a thing any other time but clearly the odd one or two are out there waiting to make things miserable for the patients.
At least if they come into your home you can sack them!
All being well, you'll be offered a suitable package and soon be home, comfortable and cared for.
At least you'll be able to choose your own music and TV programmes.
