Bacterial infection "odour" ?

Hi Fellow Bronchiectasis Sufferers Was wondering if this was just my imagination.

When I was really poorly, high fever etc, Haemophilus Influenza and Moraxella had shown in sputum sample , I noticed during this time I had an odour not BO but quite a pungent smell.

I was showering twice daily , around an hour afterwards I was aware of this odour again , it's gone now thankfully, was wondering if anyone else had experienced this ?

I read an article where a lady 'smelled' her husbands Parkinsons years before it was diagnosed. I also know that many of us moms can smell if our child is unwell before symptoms start. If so, then I'm sure our own odour could alert us to problems.

It's interesting isn't it? Worthy of further research I think.

Yes, I've known a change in my sense of personal smell when I have a bad case of flu. As I lived on my own then, I don't know if others could smell it too.

All very strange but it's a noticeable smell like when children have a cold ,slightly off from usual scent

My husband would have been too polite to mention it when I was really ill. I have had skin infections which gave out a nasty pong .

I used to work with cultures in microbiology and you can smell some cultures very strongly when handling culture plates . haemophilus and pseudomonas particularly.

Def with Haemophilis. I had it for months before diagnosed & it caused the Bronchiectasis damage. I knew my breath stank at the time. It was gross😝
