Stunning Dave, it must have been so depressing being in a room with no windows. Have a good night and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx 🌻🌻

in reply toDamon1864

It was I was missing my stars and the sunsets. The stars each night have kept my sanity. I could lose myself among them . Being shut in a room with four walls away from that was total hell xxx

A beautiful site for you Dave. I slept overnight in a hostel once with out a window and it freeked me out, had to leave the door open, but it was a very small box room and luckily was only one night.

Well you can breath in the beauty from your place now, which is good for your mental health. I am sure you slept like a babe last night x

in reply toIzb1

I haven't been sleep yet 😂 after the news I was given I want to spend as much time possible under my stars , I was locked in an airing cupboard as a child , major abuse from my father. So I don't like small spaces of any description. Hense my love of outdoor

Izb1 profile image
Izb1 in reply to

Sorry to hear you have been given bad news Davey and can understand your need to watch the stars, I love the night sky sadly nothing much to see in Manchester with light pollution. What bad news regarding your treatment from your father, it leaves alot of scars. I too suffer from claustrauphobia I think it was from playing hide and seek when kids and I hid in a suitcase, my sister then locked it and i couldnt get out I still come out in a sweat when i think of this. I hope you manage to get a little rest today as you have been up all night x

in reply toIzb1

I'll get enough sleep soon enough . I will post a full explanation of the news I received yesterday I'm just trying to focus on things at the moment. But needless to say it was devastated

Enjoy your view Has JD come to accompany you, or are you 2 having some space from each other?

Good health to you.

Lovely sunset Daveyboy! We live in the woods, house faces south with tall dense woods on all sides so don't get to see sunsets or sunrises without leaving home. Our trade off is woodland creatures and welcomed shade on these hot days. Regards to JD.😊

in reply todunnellon

That I would love 👍🏼 that reminds me of the month python song about lumberjacks 😹😹got a smile on my face right now and singing it in my head 😂

Are you home again! Well done you. Hope you are feeling a little better.

in reply toMavary

I'm home but far from better my latest post explains all I 👍🏼

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

Oh dear. It’s very hard when you’re on your own. You can only do what you can do. You are lucky you’ve got good friends that bring you food sometimes and you’ve got some wonderful views from where you live.

in reply toMavary

Yes and none of that helps me being alone with the problem .

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

I understand what you are saying. It’s quite scary being alone if you are really poorly. I don’t know how you can get over that unless you have family that can come over and stay with you.

in reply toMavary

No brothers sisters aunt's or uncles I'm the last one 👍🏼 just got to adjust to it

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

If I don’t see or talk to my family for a few days I can feel lonely and that’s only a few days so I understand how hard it is for you. Do they not have some kind of health visitor in Greece that will visit you. Maybe a nurse to check on you?

in reply toMavary

One of the matrons from the hospital actually lives a few doors down and as offered to come round and check on me do my BP 02 sugar levels

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

Oh that’s nice of her. I hope you’ve took her up on her offer. It will make you feel more secure.

in reply toMavary

I didn't get a say in the matter 👍🏼

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

I like it. You need someone to keep their eye on you.

in reply toMavary

Neighbors here cling to each other .

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

Are you included?

in reply toMavary

I've been accepted into the community I've been accepted into the village and people treat me like I'm one of their own so yes , it's the governmental areas like local council I don't exist .

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

I see so you’ve got plenty of friends then?

in reply toMavary

Aquaintances but not many who talk English 😂😂😂😂

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

I see! Well you’ve got plenty of English friends on here.

in reply toMavary

I love different languages and I'm trying hard to learn more Greek but my health as kinda changed my priorities

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

I wouldn’t have a clue about Greek. I used to try different languages in different places but I’m not very good. I could order a black coffee and order a cheese baguette in France and I could ask for an ice cream. Then I could say hello in Spanish and I could say I don’t speak Italian. That’s about my limit.

in reply toMavary

With Greek if you look at the mouth it may move twice but a hundred words have come out 😂😂😂

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

Ha ha! No good for me then. 😂

in reply toMavary

It's not good for me either 😅😅

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

It’s what my friend and I would say Gobledegook. 😂🤣. And on that note I’m off to my bed. Good Night Davey.

in reply toMavary

Good night sweet dreams

in reply toMavary

I'm so grateful to have you guys around to bring sanity into all of this

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

I just wish you had come back to this country when you were able. You would have had all the help you need. Still you have got warm weather all the year which is probably best for you and you’ve got your friendly neighbours who give you some help.

in reply toMavary

I'll have to import someone from the UK 🤣🤣🤣

Patk1 profile image
Patk1

Do they have hospices in Greece,Davey? Maybe worth chatting to nurse neighbour about it xx

in reply toPatk1

No hospice here unfortunately palitive care is given at home. And given by family

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

So what happens when you have no family?

in reply toMavary

Well you end up in limbo . Normally you would return to your country of origin but unfortunately in my case it's not a possibility

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

Such a shame in some ways but on the other hand I expect you’ve had many happy time since being in Greece. That’s what you must think about now.

in reply toMavary

Not much happy times I was caring for my stepfather who had dementia and was a full time job in itself the only time I had was shopping and the odd hospital appointment.

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

I know. I re bet he was a burden for you. But you must have some good memories of being in Greece?

in reply toMavary

Not really , I came here just to pay my respects to my mum who passed away and I was unable to attend her funeral and even now I miss her I got stranded here the rest is history

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

Oh dear. It’s not been a good journey for you has it. So did your Mum live in Greece?

in reply toMavary

My mum and stepfather retired here in 2006

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

I see. Then you went over?

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

You did so well Davey to look after him . Not many in your condition would even think to do that. You are a kind man.

in reply toMavary

I promised my mum when she was alive if he couldn't look after him self and she wasn't around I would do. But he was ok when I got here it was after a year he went down with dementia bad , I got stuck here for a different reason but regardless I looked after him until he passed away just over a month ago , my health was deteriating fast I had no meds for three and a half years which saw it to become small cell lung cancer and within months it had spread to my kidneys and brain. Now I'm at the end stage

Mavary profile image
Mavary in reply to

Your Mum shouldn’t have asked you to do that. You had your own life to lead. You were very good to do it. A lot wouldn’t.

in reply toMavary

My condition was under control when my mum asked me and I respected my mum and felt she wasn't asking the earth plus my stepfather was in good condition when my mum passed away, but dementia turned up and bingo he went down hill fast
