Dear Forum,

I have written this as I am not really supposed to be here. I’m supposed to be on the PLM forum. My sister suffers from asthma symptoms and I was really just seeking information. There are some lovely people on this forum, but I have to wish you a fond farewell and return to my own.

Love to you all.

HiWhat kind of info did you require?

The general basics are

1) Always be hydrated

2) Extreme temperatures make it very difficult to breath

3) Don’t have any bedding with feathers in it

4) Asthma may be aggravated by exercise . But it’s good for the lungs to walk

5) Avoid areas where people smoke or Vap

6) Speak to your GP if your asthma is troubling you and ask her/ him to review your inhalers . Sometimes the inhalers don’t suit you and the doctor can change them

7) Keep a nebuliser at home (with the meds for the neb)

You can also buy a portable Neb)

8) Keep diary about what foods you’re allergic to. Eg I find peanuts make me wheezy

9) Some asthmatics are allergic to cats and dogs

10) Ensure you have your reliever inhaler with you at all times ( My mum used to put an inhaler in each of my jacket / coat pockets )

I WISH YOUR SISTER WELL ❤️ AND I WISH YOU WELL ❤️

Thank you Dessert, I will pass this on. Interesting bit about the review of inhalers. A big hug and good wishes for the future from me. ❣️
