Flecainide

I have recently started on Flecainide, only low dose, 50mg once a day at night. Anyone had side effects from this drug, tiredness, a bit weak, etc. I feel so tired and lethargic since taking it and a bit irritable! I'm hoping once my body gets used to it, these effects will wear off. I'm taking it for Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation.

Hi PAP48 I’m sorry to hear about your side effects from Flecainide. I have PAF too but am on Bisoprolol for it, that makes me feel like I’m wading through treacle! I can’t take Flecainide due to other heart problems, so can’t advise on side effects but if you pop over to the AF Association forum and repost your question there, you will find lots of folk who are on it and have a wealth of experience & knowledge to share.

Thank you TC, I’ve just joined the AF forum. I hadn’t realised there was one! Sometimes I think the side effects of medication is as bad as the condition itself! Keep well. PAP
