Done it

Just wrote a reply to James Cleverly, expressing my disappointment at his previous letter and asking if government policy really is Darwinian (an insult to Darwin really.)

Last night I tried to order some more free covid tests and found that over 75s are apparently no longer eligible for them. So presumably will not get the lifesaving medicine if they need it. ( I may have pressed the wrong buttons of course- I was tired.) But it looks like another money saving measure by HMG.

Have a merry May Day everyone. I shall be at our lovely windmill for as long as I can manage.

well done . my mp had changed his address last time I mailed him so it bounced back to me . I mailed him about tidal power for generating electricity. When I did get through I was told that he knew about a project in the Mersey. Maybe he meant the Dee. We have known about this in different forms for many years There is a lagoon type that has been active for years in northern France but that type is not good as it destroys wildlife but there are projects all round the west coast of UK utilising tidal power either on surface with moored floating raft or underwater turbines .there is one that has been generating power twice daily in tidal stream of 8 knots which is quite a lot. google Orbital Marine Power in 2013 f if you want to know more. Apparently the latest gov paper on power put tidal power as too expensive and relegated to a mere mention. An island without tidal power relying on wind to generate what we need is crazy. Just how windy has it been for the past 5 weeks ?

The moon is still there and we still have daily tides in and out whatever the weather. Had a bee in my bonnet about this for years.

couldn't get through to boris but did try to tell him what a boost to his record if he initiated tidal power.

I hated the idea of the Severn Barrage- too big and destructive, but I agree small scale tidal plants would be excellent. I have an idea that at one time wind power was thought too expensive. xxx

Hi Alberta, I understand from my surgery that even NHS staff and teachers have to pay for their own LFlow Covid tests. There is no hope for the rest of us. Take care, Maximonkey
