Hi there good luck with that Barts is wonderful I have recently been told at this stage I may be suitable for LVR. Can you with your experience tell me what procedures pre-op you had to go through Kind regards. Trevor
Hi Trevor6 my pathway to LVRS started with lung VQ scan , CT scan and pulmonary rehab I am now waiting to have SPECT scan and echocardiogram on admission to St Barts London. Tbh because of pandemic I have been going through this pathway for 3 years !! But finally the surgical MDT agreed i am candidate ππΌ

All very best wishes for your surgery, and wish you a quick recovery.
Hi. Congratulations on being chosen for the LVR Operation. I had mine 2 years ago in Papworth however please give yourself plenty of time to recover as it will take longer than you think but well worth it in the long run
I really appreciate your insight ππΌWould you mind if I ask you lots of questions ? π
As many as you like
Good morning will57 πI was wondering when you returned home from hospital were you able to walk upstairs ? We are wondering if we should have bed downstairs for the first couple of weeks ? xx
I actually had a stairlift put in. Stairlift up walk down. But that was before the op as I was very bad
Hi will57 can you tell me how long you were in hospital ? xx
I believe in Papworth it is around 6 days but they put mine back two days then the surgeon had an emergency so back another 3 days then after the surgery I had irregular heart rate so an extra few days (could make this up could you) but worked out for me as I then had the tubes taken out before I left
That's fantastic news. Good luck. I am sure David Waller and his team will take great care of you
I can understand your apprehension but I am sure it will make a hugely positive difference to your life. You will be in good hands! Wishing you all the best πβ€οΈ
Hi, yes hope surgery goes well, nice birthday present. Iβm glad your getting good attention, not all of us with lung issues do. I was born in 1935 with PCD, only in last few years have had Consultant who understands it. Although going to main hospital in Birmingham Consultant was seeing wasnβt helpful, so paid to look on line to see interests etc of all respiratory consultants in area, and found Dr Sullivan who is knowledgeable and helpful, and regret didnβt do so earlier, as have partly collapsed lung resting on other. Hope your surgery goes well, good luck and best wishes. Jean x
Great news for you. I hope everything goes really well and that you are soon enjoying the benefits. Johnπ

Absolutely brilliant news. And interesting to see the good advice about recovery time and not being too impatient. It will take time to recover from such major work. But the best of luck. Weβll all be wanting to know how it goes.
