It’s sad to lose trees and I hope you can make something out of the wood Lindon. My mum planted a eucalyptus tree at the first house we lived in on the south coast. It grew very tall but has now been removed. Lovely tree it was.

Stay safe xxx

Hi Lindon it's a great idea to make things out of a beautiful tree, I would love to see a photo of the spoons you made from the other tree. Stay safe and have a lovely day and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx

Sorry that you lost your tree, hope it didn't do any damage when it came down. Good idea to make things from the wood, would love to see your spoons at a later date.

thanks for your good wishes. We're quite cosy here (Essex.) Sorry you've lost your tree. Will you plant a replacement?

Always sad to lose a mature tree. What a lovely thought to make something special from the wood.

There is a feature about carving spoons on this afternoon's Escape to the Country on BBC 1. They said that green wood is much easier to work.
