WHAT IS THE CORRECT PROCEDURE FOR TAKING TIME RELEASED DOXYCYCLINE AND WHY?

To prevent a stomach and a food pipe irritation, each time I take a 100mg time released Doxycycline (1 in am and 1 in pm - must be 12 hours apart) a pharmacist told me to stay upright for two or more hours. The reason for this is because sometimes it takes longer for time released to release fully. Is this correct?

Yes, and most doctors today also tell you to take a probiotic to keep the good gut flora going. Don't take a probiotic right away, wait 3 hours at last and take a good brand to help with that issue.
