A new life...

I stopped smoking after 60 years. When I started smoking in 1950s it was regarded as a design thing. (Even my Doctor smoked in the surgery whilst seeing and treating patients.) I contracted pneumonia in 2013, it was then that I discovered from my GP that smoking would shorten my life if I carried on. I went 'Cold Turkey' and haven't smoked since. Three things that will shorten your life, Smoking, sugar, processed food (fried chicken, hamburgers, etc) I am eighty next year and all I have wrong with me is Acid reflux. I eat veg soup, porridge, fruit and brown bread (seeded). Diet, exercise, will lengthen your life. ( my wife and I cycle or walk every day for at least an hour.)

Well done to you Lafoy. I’m carer for Pete and he has COPD, sarcoidosis, heart disease and back problems but moves around as much as possible. We have a varied diet and enjoy life as much as we can. Pete is an ex smoker of some 30 years now. Happy new year to you. Stay safe. Xxxx

Happy New year to you . i never felt the urge to smoke, but no-one of my age could avoid passive smoking on buses and tube trains, at home (father smoked), at work and just about anywhere.

White Breads/rice are Sugars whey so many issues for people all over the world esp those that lived on rice as white rice when messed with loses any nutrients as they take outer away.

If you want the Best bread go with Rye but not packet imitation rye which is a sniff of rye but mostly wheat with other crap.

Look up likes of Karaway Bakery it's only bread i have now apart from odd Whole meal Sour Dough My Cholesterol is good Blood sugars as down to 46 last check with type 2 being 49 on HBA1C the line for Type 2 so below is better but not great want to be 30's really.

Have a good butchers up road that sells good quality fresh things also makes own Sausages which are Awesome so get some Venison & various extra like red wine or shallots.Juniper and so on. Wild boar and apple.Toulouse.spicy Italian.and more and other one been getting from them is OX heart and Kidney fresh in from farm i slice them up into small pieces drop into frying pan with lid then add things like stir fry mix or veg taste nice hopefully bringing my Folate up!

But remember packet Brown bread even seeded is still rubbish as laced with Nasties and Sugars!
