Sleep

I seem to have reverted to the age old regime of shorter sleep periods. I wake after 5 hours then read do word games until I can get up and have breakfast then i fall asleep again for 3 hours or so wasting the morning . Just cannot keep awake and don't get things done that need doing . Its soon dark again and another day gone .

Today is shortest day and the lights have been on all day as the cloud is thick and grey. It has just started to rain now . I wish i could hibernate ! Wake up to find it is spring and the world is normal again.

Me too, I joke to friends that I am now hibernating until spring and hope things will be better then. Happy Christmas and New Year. xx

Pete wakes early morning, potters around and then sleeps on and off throughout the day. I don’t like winter very much and would love to hibernate. Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up one day and find covid was a bad dream. Have a good Christmas Jaybird and a happy New Year. Xxx😘

I feel like that sometimes, it must be nice to be able to hibernate. Don't worry about falling asleep because you wake so early, I used to be up at three in a morning cleaning my home all ready for hoovering. I would then fall asleep for about five hours then get up and hoover. As long as you are alright that's fine. Have a good night and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx 🌹

Thanks it helps knowing other people have suffered that way . . But I wouldn't be popular if I did the vacuuming at 5.0 as sound carries next door , Thin walls ! And floors too . 1960's housing was not the best ! Have a lovely Christmas .

I have never had a full nights sleep in years. I watch NETFLIX or Aer Videos on You Tube until 3 or even 4 PM, I manage with that as not very active these days, i fact I rather enjoy nightime TV.

Oh bless you Jaybird! It’s horrible when you can’t sleep properly & wake at crazy hours. I’m with you on hibernation!

Roll on summer. I don't like winter dark, cold and rain. Hibernation seems like one of nature's good ideas.

I’m experiencing 3am wakings at the moment, you’re definitely not alone. Surprisingly, there is evidence the pandemic is a sleep-disturbing stressor.

I seem to wake every couple of hours, its either my face in pain or my hip and I always seem to need to the toilet when I wake. I have been like this for a few years and its not getting any better, but always feel better in the summertime so am with you on hibernation x

I'm another night waker! I go to bed between 11.00 pm and 12.00. I usually wake about an hour later to use the loo. Often, I can't get back to sleep and eventually I have to give in and get up. I make a cup of coffee (decaff) and read my book for an hour or three - or even four - and usually fall asleep sitting up on the sofa with my book in my lap and my page lost! When I wake I usually use the loo again and then get back into bed for an hour or two - or three.

I wake again about 7.00 am and may or may not be tired the next day. I can't predict it.

I've given up fighting it and now I just go with the flow! I usually catch up on my sleep at some point during the week - usually by snoozing through every single TV programme I particularly want to watch. Lol!

xx Moy
