We seem to forget, Pharmaceuticals are businesses The prime object of any business is to produce a profit. It not, I repeat not, in there interest to produce a a cure, only a treatment, the better the treatment all well and good. Sorry folk but that’s the way the world works.

Now i do not know if there are real benefits or if this is only a snake oil sale : of course we are not talking of stem cell therapy but of something similar, not so effective but enough to be worth a try , furthermore being an autologous therapy there are no serious side effects.
According to testimonials seems that it could be worth a try...only problem at the moment it that there are no places in UK where is possible to try this new procedure, therefore considering a trip in the USA plus the cost of the cure could be a costly gamble.

In reality I would like only to know if it is useful or not , unfortunately I cannot find any forum of people who underwent such treatment...the rate of success and the cost could probably justify a trip in the USA....Apparently I know that we are talking of something between 5 k and 10 k + trip and two day accommodation , it seems to me reasonable if compared with the cost of a decent holiday for two, assuming a noticeable benefit.
Furthermore some clinics are in Florida so one could pair an holiday and a cure at the same time .😉
Six years ago, I had stem cell treatment for my lung issues. The difference is, they used my own stem cells (I would not have done it, if the treatment used human embryos).
the treatment was considered research, so insurance would not cover the cost.
At the clinic, they removed some of my bone marrow and blood, removed the stem cells and reintroduced it back into my blood stream. The thought was the extra stem cells would help repair the damaged lungs.
I didn't notice an improvement for about a year. At this time, I'm 72 female, I have felt better since the treatment, but I don't know if it due to the treatment, retiring, or moving to a better quality of air area. I just know that for the past several years, I have felt better than before.

As far as I know at present (as you said) no one practices the actual stem cell therapy but a similar therapy but not as powerful, albeit without side effects (it is called autologous).
I am 71 years old and I live with only one lung which also has a little fibrosis and obviously emphysema; in reality I would just like to improve my respiratory capacity a little; so far I can lead an almost normal life but the dyspnea is really annoying, fortunately so far I can manage the disease without medicines, only with a good diet, lots of exercise and a lot of patience .
The type of treatment you have done seems to have been refined in recent times due to the covid pandemic, but it is currently only available in the USA.
I hope that even here in the UK after brexit someone wants to open clinics similar to the American ones, for the moment they don't talk about it and the only one who does something similar in Harley St in London asked me for 25K pounds + 3K for exams, and it seems to me frankly too much .

I live in the USA and had it done at the Lung Institute. They have several clinic thru out the country. I had the more aggressive treatment which included using bone marrow. The cost was $11,000. That included the 2 night hotel stay.
That was 6 years ago and as I said, I'm not sure if this treatment helped or not, since I also had life style changes as well since the treatment.
You may want to do some research on The Lung Institute (I signed up for a free webinar that they offered before I decided). Also, here in the states: The Cleveland Clinic and the Mayo Clinic (the best of the best specialists and research) is worth checking into.
The problem is that so far all those who have had this treatment have received benefits but are unsure whether it was the effect of the treatment or just the consequence of a change in treatment strategy.Also we talk about treatments done more than 5 years ago and, as we know, the treatments become more and more sophisticated year after year, so it would be good to hear someone who has undergone STEM cell therapy or Platelet based Therapy in recent times, with details on costs and clinics, as well as on benefits obtained.

I agree, in the medical yield, things are changing very year. I haven't had a CT scan in the past 6 years to see if my lungs show improvement. I don't like the idea of having one just to see.
