Pete and I had ours two weeks ago Pokermon. No idea why you’re having to wait. Could it be you’re due to have the 3rd injection (different to booster) as a vulnerable person? Check with a medical professional if you can perhaps. Good luck xxx💜🤗

I was told when I had my Booster that it was just a third shot of my original 2 shots of Pfizer. I wasn’t aware of their being any difference. Joy x.

There is a difference though I don’t know what that is. Some people (like my mum) are getting a third vaccine, while some people are getting boosters.

Yes there’s a third shot for the most vulnerable I believe and then the booster. Xxx

I’ve just read on Google. Tried to post but goodness knows where it’s gone! 🤣. The third jab is for those with immunity problems. The booster for others. Joy x

I can’t help but do sympathise. You don’t seem to be on your own. My granddaughter is Type one and like you seven months after her second jab but nobody will cooperate with her or her Mum in getting the booster.

I booked mine then it was cancelled and have been unable to book in to my nearest centre. I dont want to travel further out so will wait until my local centre has a vacant slot. Hope you get booked in soon x

You can just attend a walk in now with no appointment

in reply toPatk1

I wish. It is impossible to find one around here. I rang one of the centres shown as walk in quite close to me and they were horrified! Knew nothing about it.Thankfully I am getting mine on sat which I booked three weeks ago by using the number which they gave me when they realised that they had overlooked me for the first vaccine. A closely guarded secret apparantly. You couldn’t make it up 😂

I went into Manchester city centre this morning after reading that Superdrug are doing it, only to find they are not, they sent me St Peters Square and they told me sorry the people giving this out dont start until 3pm, I didnt want to wait around that long so phoned up Asda thinking to catch the bus straight there, alas they havent started this yet. So no walk in's for me, I will wait until i can get one at my local community centre . Its not that people are slow to take this up, they just cant get in anywhere local x

I think it depends on where you live. The first two vaccines were spot on at my local community centre. I dont think the government have had such a push on the booster, there just doesnt seem the same amount of volunteers x

Yes perhaps it does vary.tbh the vaccine clinic was v well manned and all were cheerful x

My daughter and I are having trouble too. We’re in East Anglia. We called our surgery in the end and they said we should have received an invitation. Lo and behold this magically appeared while I was speaking to them! We booked only to have the appointments cancelled. Now booked in again for next week. Surgery said they had just run out of doses. I’m getting a bit fed up with seeing stories about the government being concerned about slow take up, it’s more like no availability. Hope you get yours soon 🙂

Well I rang my doctors surgery yesterday. Because my 6 months from the 2nd vaccine is on Sunday. But I was told to ring 119. But not until Monday. Because they won't give me an appointment until after the 6 months. They have taken it off the surgeries Because of the doctors workload. Which I find funny because its the nurses who did the jabs anyway. Hope you get sorted soon. Brian

I was told to ring 119 by the GP receptionist but was also told that if it's less than 6months since your 2nd jab you will not be given an appointment. I don't know if the walk in centres have a different attitude.

We hear that many things. I read last week they were on about giving people the booster under 6 months after the 2nd vaccine. But obviously not

Don't know what to believe anymore. I read the same thing but when I tried the walk in centre locally there was a big sign outside saying that only people who had booked would be vaccinated. As I hadn't been able to book I gave up because the queue was snaking out the door.

Makes a joke of calling it the walk in centre. The name suggests you can just walk in without an appointment. Which is what they are doing locally for the vaccine jabs
