My GP practice just seems to get worse with flu vaccinations. Last week I asked for appointment. Told "over comng weeks" texts would be sent giving patients contact number. One then has to phone that to get appointment. So it could be weeks before I get flu jab. I would be interested to know how many of you already contacted by your surgery for date for flu jab.

Flu vaccinations
If I was you I would go to a chemist such as Lloyds. You will get a free one there.
I have already tried Boots three times and every time they say they are fully booked. But thanks, I'll give Lloyds a go as well
have stopped waiting for GP practice to do flu jabs..... I go to my local chemist, but this year it's been more difficult because of delivery problems. But did manage to get one at Lloyds in Sainsburys last week.
Agree 100%
I logged on to my health centre website a few weeks ago….said flu vaccines delayed because of transport problems . Were due to start September.
I went to my local pharmacist ….in and out in ten minutes .
Covid booster injections started for some …..two of my friends were given choice of venues by email , all quite a few miles away .
But long waits outside .
The arrangement for the first two jabs was excellent .
No sign of my booster yet.
Thanks. Just had email from relation saying she is getting booster tomorrow. Once again our GP hopeless for COVID jabs earlier in year. Reminded them we were both in group 4 and at least that worked for the first jab. But for the second the surgery simply ignored reminder we were due a second jab. We got it only because I turned up in person at the vax centre and like Oliver asked "Please can I have more?" and the helpful staff there booked us in.
I booked our flu jabs with Boots and we had them a couple of weeks ago. We also had notification from Lloyds. Our surgery is always slow to get vaccines in. Keep trying the pharmacies Cough-Mixture. Good luck. Xx
My GP practice contacted me by text message last week to book a flu vaccine which I had last Thursday at the surgery. It was busy but well organised as that was pretty much all they were doing that day. I heard that there has been a delay in some practices getting their supply of flu vaccine.
Is worth checking out smaller local chemists as well as large chemists.I rang my local chemist a couple of weeks ago to find out when they would be getting vaccine in. They already had it!
Advised not to wait because not making appointments and once ran out could be a while before receiving another batch. I was there in 10mins!!
I asked at my GP too. Nothing yet?! 🤷
I had mine at drs last week.u can book in at chemists who offer it
It seems to be a supply problem.I had a text from GP surgery in early September.
I rang straight away ,was offered an flu appointment on October 12 th.
I managed to get a vaccination at Boots last week.
I don’t. Know why the GPS don’t get supply at the same time as the pharmacies.
Our GP practice told me the flu vaccine for over 65's is different from the standard one so beware when going to a pharmacy ask first
Not at a surgery on the Isle of Wight are you ? because it's exactly what I was told from my surgery
I havnt heard yet from my GP but my NHS app says that my GP sent my invitation on 8th September. Simone local in same position had same situation so went to ask at GP’s reception & was told oh we havnt sent the letters out yet. I also was lead to believe that the vaccination for over 60’s is different from the general one at Boots etc
Superdrug did mine. They got their vaccine in on September 20th and I went on the 25th. My GP offered late September or mid October but both were already fully booked when I got the text,
I did not get text from my GP not even a reminder when it was due, I just found a message on the web page for the surgery saying I could book online. I booked but it got cancelled and rearranged to this Saturday2nd. The chemists are more flexible on time and some are nearer than the GPs. But its now become embroilled by the covid19 booster jabs causing more confusion. My Gp does not do covid19 jabs so do not know where I might have to go this time for the booster. Good luck with LLoyds
My husband and myself had our flu jabs at our GP,s surgery 2 weeks ago.
