Hi I just thought I'd share something that others may or may not find useful...I have bronchiectasis and Crohn's, several months ago my consultant suggested I try manuka honey for my Crohn's, I've been taking a tablespoon a day since then and although I've not really noticed any difference with my Crohn's my chest has been amazing, I hardly cough any more and I've even stopped using my inhalers and nebuliser, hopefully this continues as I will continue to take my manuka on a daily basis....

Hi Lebod. I have lifelong bronchiectasis. Sadly honey has never done anything for me. If it helps you that is fantastic so go for it !
Like you I have that irritating bronchiectasis cough so I am delighted you have found something that helps. How long have you now been taking the Manuka honey? If you continue to find its beneficial in a few months time please let us know. Its good to hear of some good news. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Hi I've been taking it for about three months, so yes if it's still helping in a few months time I'll let you know...thanks
Hi again, How much manuka honey do you take and how often? Im thinking of buying some to try.
I take 1 tablespoon daily, it has to be over a certain number I buy the +55 from Holland and Barrett it's expensive but when they got the penny offers on you can pick two up for around £35.00, also look for Holland and Barrett discounts
There as been some research into this in a number of conditions. I thought the forum my find this interestingnews-medical.net/news/20190....
This is also interesting and my provide an answer why your doctor suggested it for Crohn's.....healthline.com/nutrition/ma...
It's great you have found something that works for you, I have never tried it but I might do now. Have a lovely day and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx
I tried it in the past for my asthma …..but the price has shot up.I am glad it’s worked for you.
Thank you I have had a cough since I had a chest infection some 3 years ago, think I will give it a try, can't do any harm, I do also have colitis.
I use this when I have had an infection and must say its has always made me feel much better and like you I buy it when the penny sale is on although last time i gave a pot to my daughter and one to my sister so dont have any in at the moment, will have to check out H & B x
Currently they have the penny sale on plus if you look on the Holland and Barrett website it gives you an extra 20% off too....if you so end up buying it regularly get a loyalty card too as the extra points you collect can be used off your next purchase....I hope it works for everyone else as well as it has for me
I managed to get to Holland and Barratt today after the hospital and got the 2 and the 20% discount, although they didnt know how to apply that at the till, I brought the site up on my phone and scanned it in at the till which worked. I also checked it was Manuka from New Zealand which made me confident buying it for a great price. Thanks Lebod x
That's interesting. Exercise has helped me. I'm scared to say how long it's been since I last had an infection
Thats good news Lebod, so glad it works for you and for sharing. Jax🐶
