I have to wait and see whether the diagnosis is confirmed and take it step by step.

BLF nurse helpful over the fone. Advised that I try and boost my immune system with Allicin and Manuka honey.

Thank you all again.

I had an have Mycobacterium Avium Intracellulare( When I was diagnosed with this, I was in hospital. I asked teh doctor what it was, he replied you can Google it!!! I was in a hospital bed. Fortunately, the staff nurse was very obliging and gave me the answer.

This can be a TB-related bug. fortunately, Rifampicin and Clarithromycin do an excellent job, but you have to take these for at least 2 1/2 years to be cleared.

I did this, and the consultant stopped it in the summer this year. In Autumn, I got pneumonia and another strain of it. so I am on those drugs indefinitely, as the consultant (me too!!) doesn't want me to have another infection of the sort. I never thought I would get a TB-related bug! But as the presence of the bug is seen very soon, it hasn't hot time to develop into a full blown TB. so, if you are diagnosed with this, the con is that you will have to take drugs for at least 6 months (or more), the pro is that it can be eradiacted successfully.

Actually last time I saw my chest clinic they said there that TB was becoming a problem again, and she has put to test for TB on a sputum pot for the next time I send a sample in.

Has anyone else had this too?

Helingmic I an glad you are stabilized now, and hope that you get cleared of your 'bugs' very very soon
