Hi hope everyone one is as fine as you can be. Have had few days away we went to Dudley to the Black Country museum as mum and James wanted to see it and the next day to D udley Zoo as I love animals but oh boy did they ever make a mistake mum decided to take Manuel instead of my electric chair. They regretted it big time as the zoo is all up hill and them hills are high. there was lots of heavy breathing and it wasn't coming from me. Lol

Glad you had a lovely few days away Pokermon. I bet your mum won’t do that again. I remember pushing Pete in a wheelchair on a very hot day. Never again. Lol. Xxxx

I went to the black country museum years ago and really enjoyed it there and it reminded me of the Blists hill open air museum in Shropshire which I also enjoyed.

Oh Pokermon,it sounds like a lovely time…maybe not for your mums arms, legs and lungs, but to have some good time out is great! …I love seeing all the animals too! My nephew Duggie was most impressed by the Rhino poo when we went to Longleat safari park once 🤣🤣🤣…actually, so were we to be honest 🤣🤣🤣

I went to longleat safari park many years ago and the west Midlands one and really enjoyed going there!

They’re good aren’t they! I like it because the space is good for the animals and a lion isn’t confined to a few metres!

I enjoyed Bristol zoo many years ago as well and paignton zoo.

I have heard stories that Bristol zoo is moving to a new site next year.

That sounds like a great time, apart from your mum struggling there! 😊

Sounds like you all had a great time😁 great to get a break and out in the fresh air, although mum might be aching a little, maybe bit of TLC for mum

Glad you saw all the lovely animals. Hope your mum has recovered. Colchester Zoo is also very hilly- perhaps the animals like it that way.

A welcome break for you and quite a workout for your mum. Hope she has recovered now.

Hello Pokermon. Yes its very hilly in Dudley zoo..I have not been for years. I know there's a chair lift to take you up. But not sure its all the way up. Hope you enjoyed the Black Country Museum. Brian

Oh dear! Poor Mum! But at least you were all able to have a nice time seeing different things and re-charging your batteries (oh, heck, that didn't happen, did it - electric chair at home! Well, you know what I meant!! )

I've heard good things about the Black Country Museum before and would really like to go there. Maybe one day!

So pleased you had a short break away. xx Moy

I went there as a child but I do remember the lions enclosure was on a hillside. It is one of the better zoos as it has more space for the animals but that meant more pushing for your mum.

What a great trip that sounds, except for your poor Mum.

It is indeed very steep in Dudley. I took my driving test there on a hill that in my very scared young mind resembled the Slopes of Everest.I did pass, and bought an old mini, one day drove up the steep entrance road to town when suddenly the front wheel dropped off. It bowled away down the hill. I was so worried it had either hurt someone and or damaged property but nothing seemed to have happened and after exhaustive searching, it was never seen again!

I was on the planning committee for the Black Country museum ad am glad you enjoyed your visit. Sops
