You’re not wasting anyone’s time Ken so please don’t think you are. Pete finds the mucus is always there. He has COPD (chronic bronchitis) and produces lots of mucus even during the night sometimes.
Hope you have some sunshine today. Xxx
Hi Ken, never think that you are wasting anyone's time. I have emphysema but am not troubled with mucus. It may be that in your case it doesn't go away at night but builds up while you are asleep which is why you are aware of it during the day. Just try and cough up as much as you can when you are awake to ease the problem.
Hello Ken you certainly aren't wasting anyone's time, lots of people suffer with this problem so please try not to worry. But if you are worried please speak to your GP. Have a lovely day and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx
If you are worried about getting the mucus up please speak to your Dr he can prescribe something to help with that. Many on here need help with the same thing. Take care. Christi x
All agree with everyone, you don't wasting anyone's time here, that's what the forum is about. And yes on some days I have more and then it's less again. Try to drink lots of fluids over the day that it's lose during the night and maybe easier to get rid of it. Works for me. But everyone is different. So you take care and sleep well. 🌺🌺🌺
Ken maybe as you relax and you sleep at night your airways actually relax enough to swallow the mucus, that will do you no harm but perhaps your doctor can give you a medicine that thins out the mucas and makes it easier to cough up and make you feel more comfortable during the day.We exist to help others, otherwise there would be no point to the forum so never think you are wasting anybodys time,we are here to help.
Best wishes Ski's and Scruff's
Hi Ken! My evening physio gets rid of a lot of it, but not all, so I always go to bed with stuff on my lungs. During the night it can be re-absorbed by the body. Maybe this is what happens to you.
Hi Ken, you're definitely not wasting anyone's time. Mucus is a great and much discussed topic of conversation here. There have even been poems written about it. Mucus is one of the mysteries and trials of life. I can't answer your question but just wanted to send you lots of good wishes.
Your not wasting anyone's time , c.o.p.d is a progressive irreversible illness and people need support and it's took till recently for even the dwp to accept just what a serious condition c.o.p.d is . Everyone on here as lung conditions and everyone is supportive and if possible helpful . 👍👍

Hi, after 3 years with COPD and one lung only I personally found that using two vials of saline solution mixed with 2/3 drops of good quality eucalyptus oil delivered with a basic nebuliser (two or three times a day) clears my (only) lung quite well ...no side effects and, at least in my case , no more colds. It takes 10/15 minutes every time , if you want you can buy last generation nebuliser on amazon very small and rechargeable, instead of a noisy and bigger mains operated ( basic Omron costs about 38 pounds)
PS eucalyptus oil is disinfectant and anti inflammatory salt is disinfectant as well.
Best wishes...
Could it be that the mucus is building up at night for you to cough up during the day. i found my AeroBika gadget (prescribed by my doctor) helped no end to bring up mucus when I was really bad.
