During my telephone consultation with a GP I asked if she had any advise on coping with the Coronavirus outbreak and she ‘ advised’, “Don’t get it..!”
Unbelievable! Why is there hardly any guidance for the old and vulnerable?
Since then I have found some useful information on preparing for the spread of Coronavirus on the BLF website, but her comment and lack of understanding really upset me. I hadn’t booked an appointment just to ask her that and I really wanted some guidance.
I feel like it’s the elephant in the room now and that I shouldn’t mention it. Had anyone else felt this way?
Im trying to remain calm, but I want to be prepared.
Take good care everyone.

I think that is absolutely disgusting, these are the people who are supposed to care for us. What your GP said was shameful no wonder you are upset. I wait get get as much sensible information off here. You have a good day and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx
It appears that GPs and consultants are under the govt cosh not to advise us to distance etc. Not so BLF who put advice on Facebook and the COPD society who emailed me just now with the same advice. ( strange as I have bronch but welcome). At least they are brave enough to look after those they support.
I’m bemused and concerned too. There also seems to be an assumption that anyone “vulnerable” doesn’t have a job or kids to look after either. I can’t socially isolate as long as the official government and NHS advice is that everyone without symptoms can carry on going to work. Stay well. X
Yes I was rushed in for the transplant this afternoon only to have the op cancelled because the donor may have been in contact with the virus. I spoke with my transplant nurse and I feel the same. I also think they have to go along with the guidelines set by public health UK.
It was an emotional and busy day for me. I feel exhausted and I’m going to pull up the drawbridge now and stay in and watch Netflix for the foreseeable.
"I’m going to pull up the drawbridge now and stay in and watch Netflix for the foreseeable" Yes, feet up and watch all 13 seasons of Heartland, that will take a while, if you like horses that is
