I am going to phone my doctor tomorrow but I’ve been having pains around my rib area when I breathe in deeply or when I cough and sneeze etc. Pain also is in my chest and goes to my shoulders at times too. I cannot yawn etc as it’s too sore. I googled of course and it’s all pointing to pleurisy. Thank you x

I was diagnosed to have pleurisy, I had pain with each breath, specially deep breaths. I’ve also had pain in my chest reaching to my right shoulder blade but that turned out to be gall bladder inflammation, I did not have my gall bladder removed, I was able to heal it with the correct diet, no pain now some years later, and no pleurisy.
Good you are speaking with your doctor tomorrow, hope all goes well. Hope you are soon feeling much better.
I had pain at the bottom of my rib cage on the left side. Got bad enough over that day we called the ambulance. Turned out to be pneumonia and pleurisy. In hospital for 10 days, where they removed 750 ml of infected fluid from my chest cavity. Various antibiotics including intravenous ones. (They gave me oral thrush). I think because of not being able to breath properly, my oxygen levels went below 90. Possibly the cause of my heart failure which I have now. So, I would say don't wait to call the doctor, call 999
Good grief thats awful. A very good reason why a GP phone consultation isn't such a good thing for Sharon1984. A lot can be diagnosed via a stethoscope including pleurisy, infection, pneumonia with a face to face consult. P
I have chronic bronchiectasis and asthma. I have infections every six weeks. The first sign for me is pain round my ribs caused by inflammation and infection. Get advice ASAP. Good luck.
