Pleurisy question

Hello - new hear but so glad I found this site as feel I’m going crazy with pleurisy as never had before and never been ill like this before. I had covid (mild) but seems have developed pleurisy. The pain isn’t too bad but the shortness of breath is driving me crazy!! This is my third week and feels like never feel well again. I’ve been trying to keep up with my daily walking - 5-6 miles as well as morning yoga. I feel it’s important to keep lungs active but should I be doing this?? Am I making it worse? I do rest after the walk but the breathless feeling is horrible.

Welcome to the forum Skinskan. It sounds as if you are still experiencing COVID symptoms so don’t push yourself too hard. Let your body rest and recuperate as it affects everyone differently.

If your breathing gets worse then either contact 111 or dial 999.

Take care xxxx

Time for a bit of R and R ....rest and repair ....maybe ?

My eldest daughter now thinks she contracted Covid weeks ago, but still was going on her morning run.....couldn't understand why she felt dreadful when she got back .

It took time for her to recover from the weakness and breathlessness .

My other daughter has been following the NHS exercise routine at home .

Could you add a gentle shorter walk to a gentle yoga routine , and some gentle resting breathing.

Take time to care for yourself and help with the healing process .

I think it would do more harm than good to push yourself to 5-6 miles daily with pleurisy and recovering from Covid, I don't think you should be out at all - have you checked with your GP or hospital if you still need to be in quarantine / isolation / shielding ?

Its said recovery from Covid can be up to 6 weeks ( or more).

Be guided by the medical professionals.

To heal and recover the body needs to rest.

Fine to do some gentle exercise at home if you feel up to it.

Thank you all...at least I’m not going crazy! According to Dr I had mild covid around 6 weeks ago and it triggered pleurisy so rest and relaxation it is! That’s going against my nature 😁
