Hi guys, looking for some advice and/or experiences re pleurisy?
I was diagnosed at the end of November but it still doesn't seem to have completely gone, it's worse in the cold etc but even at its best it feels like I've got a chunk of glass in my chest. It's mostly not unbearable but I'm still off work and starting to feel anxious that they think I'm taking the mick.
I've been referred to the chest clinic but don't know when I will hear from them. I'm feeling quite low and stressed, I called my GP for a new sick line but I got a call back saying I had to make an appointment for a review which is making me worry too.

Yup it lingers huh, I’ve had the big horse needle stuck in my back to get the fluid out an it does hurt like ‘^•@!; bleep! But it does make it easier to breath when they’re done. I guess Lasiks must not be working for you, all it ever did for me was make me repeatedly pee my pants. Here they usually put one on steroids for something similar to anti inflammatory, that usually gets rid of it for me. I’ll tell you straight I use to get it and as soon as I got rid of it I’d turn around and get it again. At this time I’d say it’s been probably 4yrs since my last episode. I just turned 52, I live in San Diego,CA so I get plenty of sun an I think that helps A LOT , maybe not so much for my old lady skin but hey I can outlast a youngster at the gym on almost any given day. I had a major stroke at 25 and was left hemiplegic, had 3 mitral valve replacements and a sternotomy. Last operation surgeon had to dig thru so much scar tissue he left me asleep on machines for a week and awoke to”You have COPD, emphysema along w/every other lung malfunction they’ve got on the market. Just breath✌️
