Hi I started taking trimbow on Sunday for the first time, should I be feeling the benefit right away or does it take a while? :) x

I don't take trimbow but I would say it may take a couple of days / weeks.

I take 2 of the meds in trimbow separately, find the formeterol a good quick acting broncodilater on its own(15-20 mins), the other med is a preventer med so you won't necessarily feel benefit of that straight away.

You may need to check your technique, its important to help get med well into your lungs. The information leaflet that comes with the med explains.

With any inhaler containing a steroid it can take up to a month to feel the full effect but you may begin to feel a difference after a couple of weeks.

I found it took about 4 weeks of taking it before I felt the full benefit although I get in well with it my only criticism is that it doesn’t last the 12hours between doses I find I need it sooner , but other than that it works well , I was on braltus and duoresp before xx

If you're taking this for the 1st time you might put 'how to use Trimbow on youtube' in your search engine. Hopefully you'll get a good demonstration on how to inhale correctly so you get the best benefit. I know to my cost how easy it is to get in the habit of using incorrectly. Check the leaflet thoroughly too. Good luck

I use Trimbow but inhale it through an AeroChamber which does help. Do hope it works for you.

Hi I have just moved from Symbicort to Trimbow. Like Ventolin I use an adult spacer with mask for both inhalers. I have also worked with many elderly inhaler takers too. I Never felt any benefit of any inhalers untill Symbicort. Then whilst working with an Alzheimers patient I asked the GP if we could get an adult mask on the spacer like the children have. Amazing the difference it made to my clients and myself inhaling technique we now get the full benefit of the medication. So shake well attach to bottom of spacer mask fit over nose and mouth. Breath in deep but gently breath out FIVE times. Repeat for 2nd dose. You can use spacer without the mask but i find it much better with mask.
