I have some good news to share. Had a call from my CyberKnife doctor the other night to discuss the results of the latest CT since the last treatment in Dec. She said the tumor on my right upper lobe is obliterated. I have some residual radiation inflammation and everything looked as she expected and no swollen lymph nodes. I get another CT in 3 mo. and if the inflammation is still there, I go on a short round of steroids. After that, we do a PET at the one year mark. I know life can change in heartbeat, but right now I am relieved, joyous and grateful for the support of friends, family and forum family who understand and offer assistance, comfort and encouragement. My daughter was visiting from Washington at the time and it was the first time we've been together in 2 years and she and I and Hubs did our happy dance!

Wonderful news! It can seem like a lifetime waiting for those scan results, but when the news is so good, then it's worth the wait!
I've had Gamma Knife surgery to two separate brain lesions in the past 9 months, and do wish we had it for the lungs too! - I've had a course of SABR treatment for the lung ones, and while it was stable at the last scan, I can't help wishing I could have the Gamma Knife treatment for those.
Seems the first brain lesion is still in the icky looking stage, and the second was only seen/done last month, so the first scan for that will be perhaps July.
Wishing you well for future scans ...may they always be good!
Wishing you well too MacColl. Xxx
Wishing you well too! My first scan was a baseline at 1 mo. and didn't show any change. This one was 3 mo. after that. I feel very fortunate to be able to have the CyberKnife treatment. I know of many in the meningioma (Meningioma Mamas and Papas) forum who have had much success with Gamma Knife, and CyberKnife is becoming more popular here as a first line treatment rather than only for those who aren't good candidates for surgery.
Thank you - much as I dislike the scans in case all is not well, it's good that this one was found quickly, The first was only found after it had caused a seizure during the night in April last year.I always need to have two scans: a CT in radiology, and then up to the Neurosciences dept for an MRI. (I ask the first to leave the cannula in to avoid having two). Last month, the lung CT was stable but the brain MRI showed this new small one.
Very grateful to have the Gamma Knife unit in Leeds, but as far as I know, it's only set up for brain and neck tumours.
I must ask about this type of treatment for lungs next time we see the consultant.
I wasn't offered Gamma for my meningioma tumor. My lung tumor was found due to a PET scan ordered by the neurosurgeon after a meningioma was found on an MRI. The M was in my spine, C3-C5 and removed surgically. I was to the point of numb hands and foot and gait was off and trippy and I had allodyinia from my armpits down. The allodynia went away immediately. The hands still have numb thumbs and the toes of the foot remain numb but, all in all, liveable....good enough to happy dance!👍
That really is awesome to hear. Good luck in the future tests and pray it will not return.
Well done 👏👏
Wishing a happy dance for all!
