After 2 years of taking Trimbow (Steroid) 2 puffs x2 daily I have been changed to Anoro Ellipta 1x1 puff per day (Non Steroid)

Anyone else using this.

Yes, I use Anoro. Since coming off the steroid inhaler the mucus which was getting worse all the time has vanished. Finding what suits is trial and error.

I am on Fostair 200 mg. I have two puffs twice a day. I would like to be off of steroid as I’m bruising so badly. I had a tooth removed and I had bruising down trough my nose, across my face and all down my neck. Even the dentist was shocked when she saw it. So how are you getting on with the new inhaler?

It seems there are inhalers that are not steroid ones. I’ve already been in hospital with broken bones due to osteoporosis caused by taking steroids after having pneumonia and Aspergillosis so you would think they would keep me off of the steroids. The bruising is another thing though and I now think it’s got bad enough to change my inhaler. I was on the brown inhaler which I can’t think of the name of but had it changed after I was ill.

Hi. My pharmacy was unable to get my usual Seebri at the turn of the year (because of Brexit I'm told), so I was prescribed ANORO instead. My breathing immediately improved and I have had no problems with mucus. I think it's wonderful.

Hello Will 57, I have mild - moderate emphysema and was on a steroid inhale for a year not long after diagnosis, as I had had several severe chest infections in a year. I asked to come off it a year later due to side effects and worrying about the harm it might be doing. The side effects included easy bruising, sore throat, croaky voice, cramps and other stuff I have probably forgotten. The nurses at my practice said that I should never have been on it as it is only suitable for people who are at a later stage of COPD. I have been on Anoro Ellipta, one puff a day, since then - for about three years I think.

The side effects disappeared very quickly and have since then I have taken singing with my new-found voice. I have not had any lung infections since having changed.

I hope you find it so much better, as I did.

Thanks for the reply but I was extremely ill with COPD and 2 years back my wife was informed that it was highly unlikely that I would survive one of my many hospital intakes and luckily I did survive also my operation at Papworh Hospital for LVR. After my last function test in December they decided to take me off Trimbow because of the Steroids.Fingers crossed.

Hi, how are you getting on? I was quite ill and on steroids at the start of last year but more or less ok since I've started using the Anoro Ellipta. Hoping that this will last.

I was changed again and now on Spiolto which seems better as the Anoro Ellipta was not working for me
