I have lifelong bronch. I had the AZ on Feb 9. I had a headache and fever for 2 days. After that I have been fine. Certainly better than having covid with our already damaged lungs.

Hi karamo, I have lifelong bronch too, with half a lung missing. I’ve had first and second AstraZeneca jabs with no symptoms except a slight metallic taste for a few hours. If anything I feel better now with a little more energy than before I had the jabs. Normally I don’t bother with the annual flue jab but I do like this AZ vaccine.

It's a funny thing, I have felt better since the vacc. My breathing had been wheezy after a pre xmas bleed and it cleared 2 days after the vacc. My con said that many of her patients had reported better breathing and Dr Sarah on the tv said that many of her patients had said that they had more energy. The placebo effect? I wonder.

Interesting Pom, unlikely to be placebo I think, you and me are pretty in tune with how we feel day to day, lifelong bronch keeps us alert for problems, the sudden extra energy is rare for me and at first I dismissed the efficacy of the vaccine because I didn’t have any symptoms, thought it had not worked on me.

My con said that one of her copd patients was almost convinced that there are steroids in the AZ vaccine because his breathing has improved so much. Very interesting responses. I hope that somebody is keeping note to look at it later.

Hi Littlepom .I live in Ireland & have bronchiectasis . I too had a bleed in December & January wasn’t good for me. We are good bit behind ye in receiving vaccines . I’m hoping late April / May . I always follow your thread as it’s similar to my condition & it’s so reassuring to hear vaccine was ok for you . I was anxious in case it wouldn’t suit me .

I do hope that you get your vaccine soon. I find that it does help to have other people's very differing experiences of living and coping with bronch. It's good to know that we are not alone.

Don't hesitate karakoram, go for it! I has my first vaccination in January and yes, I was unwell for four days. I woke on the fifth day with no further symptoms. Protect yourself and the rest of us and have it.Good luck.

I have bronchiectasis severe asthma and TBM. I had no symptoms at all after the AZ, not even a sore arm at the injection site. I hadn’t heard about the possibility of symptomatic improvements, but I have to say that I’m feeling better than normal. Long may it continue 😃

Yes I have & had AstraZeneca 6 weeks ago. All ok. X

Hi I have Bronchiectasis and had the AZ vaccine. I would say it’s imperative that any respiratory sufferers have any COVID vaccination.

The pneumonia vaccine is also important.

I have bronchiectasis but atypical . Only get exacerbation s rarely but have also had a lung abcess and 2 PE over the years. Had vaccine. Feb 3rd. Had fever and aches briefly just overnight. Then 2 days when couldnt eat at Then sudden attack of diarrhoea together with feeling very hot and sudden profuse sweating. Tried to get up and fainted momentarily .Breathing was difficult as i had to hurry upstairs to the loo and I sat there for quite a while and eventually crawled to bedroom . .I truly thought my time had come as I couldn't breathe. Was perfectly well next day .I know that diarrhoea can cause fainting , but I have never ever fainted before.

I looked up the side effects the next day and found I had hit the jackpot with these side effects only recorded rarely. I haven't heard of any others having these though so don't worry. Better to have the vacc rather than Covid itself.

I am waiting for the second now. Hoping it doesn't get delayed .

I have bronchiectasis and had the AZ vaccine. No side effects but having caught covid whilst in hospital last October it's something I certainly wouldn't want again so feel much better now I'm vaccinated.
