Sorry...I slipped into misery mode yesterday...didn't mean to drag you down there with me though.
We went into Roscommon town this afternoon...car needing to be taxed...I had to go into Frances shop though...can't not go in there.
She was alarmed by the fact Himself hadn't parked directly outside where there was a ginormous space...I told her he said it wasn't allowed...unloading bay only, he said...she said what a load of rubbish...who's going to be unloading anything today...with a sweep of her arms to indicate the rain lashing down outside...so I told her what he'd done this morning.
Took the dogs out for their early morning walk and when he came home he went to change his Crocs...he looked dreadfully puzzled for a minute...he'd gone out wearing one Croc and one flip-flop.
Frances giggled...but a customer waiting behind me looked horrified...handed two balls of wool over with the correct money and made a hasty escape...
I didn't buy any more wool...my stash is already trying to escape from drawers and cupboards but I did get a length of fancy fringing to go round the lampshade on the standard lamp...
The grumpy woman who serves behind the counter in the paper/bookshop is very nice to me now I'm dragging my oxygen about...she smiles a sickly smile and asks if I'm alright...she's still a real misery with other customers though.
Lidls has been smartened up...it was heaving with people as well...came away with fresh Apricots and a jar of Black Cherries in syrup, thought they'd be delicious with ice-cream...going back on Monday because they'll have ice-cream makers for sale and I think it'd be worthwhile getting one.
Then we came home in the rain.
The ability to reply to this post has been turned off.
We are entitled to have an off day,and I think we all know you won't be down for long, the black cherries and ice cream sound delicious. Had to smile at the episode with the crocs and the flip flops.😃
No worries about yesterday, you got yourself and Himself out today so all good. How nice to be able to go into a shop and have a little natter without someone tut tutting behind you. Here people tend to think you are holding them up and ruining their lives if you so much as hesitate in packing your shopping, let alone chat to the person serving you. We have often had people dart in front of Pete on his scooter, at their peril I must say, just because he is not moving fast enough. Trust me, they should be grateful for that.
Hope you get a sunnier day tomorrow. Think of Pete and I on Friday hurtling (hopefully not) back to Southampton Hospital to get this silly spinal cord stimulator programmed properly which is what should have been done in the first place. Never mind, has to be done.
Take care, and wishing you well. xxxxx
Hi vashi don't you ever worry about sharing the dark side of your illness with us please. We are all entitled to be down sometimes with what we have to put up with. Besides you have more than earned it with your wonderful stories. Always here for you my love. Look after yourself. xx
Oh I had an ice cream maker. My best ever was lemon meringue using those ready made meringues crumbled in at the last minute. 2nd best was rhubarb n crumble. Oh I think I need to pop up to sainsburys (5 minutes away on foot) for a Solero!
Cherry pie and ice-cream is a favourite of mine😊so lucky Himself is !
Funny him going out with one croc and one flip flop heheh! The pup keeps pinchng my shoes and slippers so I'll probably be mixing and matching myself at this rate 😁....
Max has learnt sit and is learning down now 😆
The weather for this time of year is disappointing to say the least😟 let's hope it gets better soon I think we could all do with some warm, hazy summer days 😎
Hi vashti, laughing about himself pairing the croc with the flip flop. He may start a new fashion. Don,t worry about being 'down' sometimes, you write from the heart and real people have multi - faceted feelings. I think this is what is lovely about the site, serious information seeking post, our people, are pets, today laughing about 'wind', Dennis sharing his findings with us... long may it continue. Love Margaret x
Home made ice cream! Many moons ago far back in the mists of time I remember making ice cream. Have you got lots of recipes? If not I can post one on here that I saw in Women's Weekly recently.
Love AS x
It amazes me how we can be up one day and so down the next with our illnesses. One thing I have learned is that members on here never give up and feel better when supporting others through the bad times. Glad you are feeling brighter.
