Where can I get old inhalers from?

Hello, I need large numbers of used inhalers and pacers. I 'm planning to do an art installation linking children's health to air pollution. Do you have any advice as to where I can get them from? Do you have a stash you keep meaning to recycle? I will ensure the ones I have will be recycled after the installation is over. Any guidance gratefully received! Thank you!

You might want to email BLF directly because few inhalers are recycled these days (which is very disappointing) and, although some individual members might have some, most will not. However, this might provide an impetus for BLF to consider a centralised recycling scheme (like ink cartridges), providing you with some and returning the rest to manufacturers.

Hello, thank you! I think GSK may have started a recycling scheme quite recently. Some details here; recyclenow.com/what-to-do-w...

Glad to hear it! AstraZeneca stopped collecting spent Symbicort Turbohalers last year - these have a very complex mechanism, and must cost a fortune to make. But they do a good line in vaccines, I hear!

Perhaps post on social media ?

My pharmacy disposes of used medications safely, I am not sure if it would be considered a health and safety issue to make artwork from used inhalers, even if you are sterilising all yourself. Perhaps check with the venue where you intend to show the artwork.

If there are no safety issues to yourself and others, i have a few Trelegy that i was ‘saving’ for my next trip to a pharmacy

When I go to respiratory at the hospital for appointments, I take all my inhalers for recycling. I think some chemist to this as well.
