It started with a sneeze.

Not any old sneeze, one of those sudden, dry, blow your brains out sneezes, followed by nasty chest pains and coughing up quite a lot of blood. A rather dark time, with thoughts that my cancer was back along with a sudden decline in my breathing and SPO2. An urgent PET scan on Friday produced no sign of increased tumour activity. I will probably have to start my rescue pack today, although my mucus is without any colour. Despite caning my reliever the SPO2 remains stubbornly low, 89% at the best, but vertigo is a real problem and making it extremely hard to see my monitor. Finally up and out of my bed today, for a while, which I think maybe a mistake.

How awful for you. Pleased to hear it's not the cancer, but extremely worrying nonetheless. I do hope you get to the bottom of it and that you start to feel better very soon xx

What a worrying time for you, very pleased that it is not cancer. Please take good care of yourself, if that means going back to bed then go for it, whatever makes you feel a little better. Do hope that you are feeling better soon. Take care. xx

Hi 2greys,I am very happy to hear that there is no cancer activity. It all sounds very strange to me, truly. Sneezing.. and coughing up blood....I take it you've an appointment with your GP? Vertigo is an ENT issue.....I've had it for years. Looking forward to hearing any results soon. In the meantime, keep warm and safe.

Hope things get no worse for you, 2greys, and improve once you’ve made a start on rescue meds. We all delay starting them but usually find best move as time goes on. But of course your GP is best reference point, we can only say how things work out for us. All the best...

Take things easy and listen to your body 2greys. In times of stress our body needs time and rest to recover. It does sound a possibility you rushed things but 'm so glad things turned out better than you thought. I hope you begin to feel better soon.

Oh that is dreadful. Have you managed to contact your doctor yet. Vertigo appeared for me again after 20 to 30 years . Nothing you can do except keep breathing . I put it down to stress at the time . It did come back again after a day but not recently. I just concentrate on breathing and i think that is calming.

So sorry to hear you are having a rough time 2greys. hope you are feeling better very soon, sending my best wishes , take care. Carol xxx

That's horrible. You know how to deal with it but do remember that you need to be kind to yourself and no lifting after that bleed!None of the docs thought to say that to me after I had my big bleed in Nov but a physio was very firm about it.

I hope that every day brings a little improvement.

That’s horrible, blood is always so scary, no matter which orifice it emerges from! Just because it’s not cancer related doesn’t mean it’s not serious. I hope efforts are being made by someone to find out why this happened. In the meantime be very cautious (Boris would approve of “cautious” haha) about what you do and take very good care of yourself.

Morning to you 2greys and I'd noticed your absence for a day or 2. The worry of it all when you've had cancer must be terrifying, so it's great to learn it's not reared it's ugly head again. Fingers crossed 🤞that the antibiotics will kick in and make life more bearable. Im sure Sharon was worried no end, so its a huge sigh of relief from her I'd think? So it's bed rest for you .... I'm not so sure that you're too happy about that as we know you never sit doing nothing and are always on the go!! Take care. 🐿🌈😷.
