I need your Advice

Hello all,

So I have been through the testing etc. But for the past few weeks, when I talk, I feel like my breathe runs out. It's uncomfortable and effecting me mentally. I can exercise and I am ok breathing wise. My chest seems tight while out running like I cant get a good inhale. My SPO2 stays at a high number so I know oxygen is getting into my blood. Just wondering why when talking I seem to feel air punching in my chest. Also, I feel a stronger vibration in my chest when speaking. Makes me not want to talk at all. Any advice is appreciated. I tried to see my pulmnologist but she declined me etc.

What testing have you had and why is your dr declining you? My dr kept saying nothing was wrong with me and I found out I had had MAC a year later and it had been there a long time. You know your body so maby get another opinion.

spirometer, xrays, stress test, 2 ct scans. Trying to get another round and the ABG test.

You have had quite a bit, MAC is usually visible on the CT scan so probs not that. I related to you not being able to get a deep breath in and run out of breath when talking and tight chest. I had a strange vibrate feeling when breathing in, on and off, in

the upper middle to slightly right of my chest, very annoying. My spiro only showed extremely mild asthma (not what they would normally count as asthma) but my dr gave me inhaler which helped with all symptoms. Maby they should try you with an inhaler and see if that helps?

Yes I have had a good work up but still feel off. I am waiting to see what they will do for me next. I will check on inhalers etc. Thank you!

Yes so its not a like a shortness of breathe where you are trying to catch your breathe, it's like the management of air in your breathe is off.

Yes mine wasnt like puffing out of breath but trouble deep breathing in and tight feel in chest when going for walk, also the odd chest burning when walking. Also happened bending ova washing the dog. Most of my spiro is fine also but one was quite low, cant remember which.

My raw was low only one at 66%

Hey Artichokes

My Spirometer was within normal results so I was not diagnosed with COPD. Which I am glad about! However, I do have anxiety that's for sure. Now anxiety can be a tricky disease, so is it anxiety causing me to have these symptoms? Or is it a physical thing? What I am going through is different then anything before. My FEV1 was 96% 4.7/4.53 so that is a good score. My DLCO was 102% so oxygen is getting into my blood. Only outlier was my raw under airways resistance at 66% but the rest of that category was above average as well etc. The pulmonologist are very busy people so they want to see people who are already sick or diagnosed. She sees me as an anxiety patient. Which is true yes I have anxiety, but I am experiencing some real physical symptoms that are hard to say it's the fault to anxiety.

Do you use chest breathing or diaphragm breathing normally?

in reply toErgendl

I breathe w my diaphragm

That's good. Make sure you continue to breath through your diaphragm and control your breathing when you have these attacks. Try breathing out all the air in your lungs and then relax - the natural process will ensure that new air enters your lungs because of the way lung are designed.
