Just finished a weeks worth of prednisone & clarythromicine , spelling might be a bit off there ?? . Finally got rid off that cough but on the last day I started to feel bloated & gassy & by the evening I had painful trapped wind between my shoulder blades & it has been coming back every evening. Never had a problem before, any ideas on sorting it ...

Hi Spoticus, I can only think that the pred and possibly the antibiotic are affecting your digestive system. Contact your GP if you can as he may be able to help. Pete takes a gastro resistant tablet each day because he suffers from wind and reflux.

Thanks for the quick reply sassy59 I did wonder whether that was the problem. Painful isn’t it when the cure creates another problem x

A course of pro biotics may help to settle any digestive issues.

Anti biotics can really upset the balance of the natural healthy bacteria in the gut, pro biotics help put that back bringing things back into balance and settling the gut down again.

Its a more natural way to do things although I believe the doctor can prescribe something like fibrogel which is also quite natural and helps achieve the same purpose.
