Hot flashes at night

I wake up several times a night in a hot flash which lasts forever, with no sweating. Does anyone know if this is connected to my having bronchiectasis with pseudonomas. Driving me crazy! Help!!

Maybe dehydration as I sometimes get hot but after a drink of water it goes. Also maybe age dependent but speak to GP

Thanks for reply.told my GP. Seems to think it is an anxiety attack. Very frightening, feel I’m going to spontaneously combust.

Anxiety could be an issue but judging by my experience I would still try a drink. Good luck

I get through 1 to 2 glasses of drink a night. Always going to the bathroom.??

I would suggest finding a way of being calm if that’s the only suggestion from your doctor. Take care and good luck

Hi Moneylover,I am new to this site, but I also have Bronchiestasis and suffer the same problem.

Can I ask if you or anyone else coughs continually, I know we have to clear our lungs, but I am now coughing continuously even after after rescue pack antibiotics, it is exhausting. Any advice please 🤗

Hi. Thanks for replying. Only you seem to know what I am talking about. It’s an internal heat I can’t control, sometimes goes on for up to an hour. I try deep breathing which sometime helps. As for the coughing sound as if you should contact your Respiratory Nurse about it. Have you been in touch with someone with Covid? I hope not. Please ring someone.

I hope you find a solution soon, or it goes away of its own accord. I'm a fellow bronchi and I almost always have a hot flush when I wake up, though nothing like as bad as yours. I'm surprised that you have only had one suggestion.

Yes, so was I. Thought it might be to do with my breathing, or waking up in REM sleep. But no clarification on this. It is awful!

Steroids can give you hot flushes if you are on them?

Yes, I know but not on steroids.I think it must be anxiety as when something goes wrong during day, I have a hot flash. Trying not to worry about them so much.
