Some characteristics of the South African variant. As I have said before, even after getting the vaccine my advice is to remain shielding and behave as if you have not had the vaccine.

The higher the infection rate the greater chance of mutation. It cannot mutate if it cannot reproduce.

I intend to keep shielding. Inoculation doesn’t mean can’t get Covid. Just to reduce severity if caught.

I have my first Covid Vaccine booked for next Saturday thank heavens as I was beginning to think I had been missed somehow. I will be having the AstraZeneca but quite frankly I would have which ever they had offered me. I will still continue to stay shielding until the masses have been vaccinated, it will just be a relief to get it done.
