Just when I had given up hope they popped through my letterbox this morning whilst the sun was shining brightly. πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ

Isnt it funny, our parents used to give us vitamin c and d then they went out of fashion. Suddenly the powers that be have realised they are actually useful. Make sure you take them each day.. I've been on them since last March.I was fortunate, my mother also gave me a halibut oil capsule each morning but my friend had a spoonful of codliver oil Ugh!

Cheers Cx

During WW2 those things were given free to children (often shoved down their throats under protest) which in my opinion is why so many are living a lot longer now. Like myself. 😁x

I'm counting on it Don. Out of interest, what happens when you finish your supply of VD3? Can you apply for another lot?X

β€’ in reply toRoadRunner44

They are only for the clinically extremely vulnerable so I suppose some government smart arse has estimated that most of us will be gone by then. Isn't he/she in for a big surprise! πŸ˜‚x

My Mother shoved Cod Liver Oil and Malt down mine (and the dogs and my Dads) maybe that Is why I still limp slowly along.

Same here...!

β€’ in reply toRoadRunner44

we had a spoonful of Cod Liver oil followed by a spoon of malt, I did enjoy the latter it was like thick runny toffee :P Those were vitamin supplements in our house when we were kids in the days of coal fires and outside loos.

Yes! I remember that malt you mention was called Virol and I had a spoonful each morning before leaving for school. Oh, and don't forget the tin bath on Sunday night!

I still take it. I get it in Holland & Barrett. I love the stuff!

YukI remember being dosed with cod liver oil as a child .Given it at breakfast -still tasting it at lunch.

Also had rose hip syrup -remember that ?

Yes Rose hip syrup was another one. Our mothers certainly tried their best to look after us back then. Of course rickets was a huge problem during the 1940s. I believe the government of the time had to fortify margarine with vitamin D to counteract the problem.

I still take both, every morning with breakfast.

I can’t seem to find Rose Hip Syrup anymore....I loved that too as a child. Our parents certainly looked after us and we should be thankful for that even in those days not long after the war.

The leaflet enclosed with them says keep well away from pets, so I'll keep them in the shed at the bottom of the garden. πŸ˜‰

Hello Don

Can I ask how you get them I went on a site as well for vitamin D still waiting for it can you shed some light please thanks I'm foxy79

β€’ in reply toFoxy79

They came in a silver plastic bag via Royal Mail 120 tablets lose in the envelope shown in my photo. I can't remember how long it is since I went on the site to ask for them it's a while back. You just have to be patient ie as the dictionary says "able to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious." πŸ˜‰

Morning to you Mr.D & Miss Chief. Its a good feeling when something you've ordered actually arrives and gives you something new to read up on or just look at, lol😁!! Is the ever so shiny black lady, bothered by the letterbox and letters etc .that come flying in. Some cats aren't fazed whereas others go into attack mode and almost make it into a playtime? Our Hazel switches from behaving to misbehaving for no apparent reason and when its the "attack" mode, we have to salvage what we can and use lots of cellotape. ( no, we don't tape Hazel's mussel up --although there's an idea!!!) So todays list of what the heck to do ........ is still a work in progress. I may try some drawing but my concentration isn't at it's best at the moment. Are you doing much today Mr.D ? 🐿🌈😷x
