I doubt that anyone here can answer that question but why specifically 21st January?People are being notified when they are due to get the vaccine.

Thanks for responding. My doctors receptionist rang me to offer me an appointment on that day pm.

Your reply explains your query but I still don't know. I would have thought that your GP would not be offering you the vaccine if it wasn't safe for you. Your reply to madonbrew says that you have been reassured that it is ok. I suppose that you have to decide for yourself but in the same situation I would accept it.

Thanks I will do The doctor could not decide one way or the other but there are so many lovely and knowledgeable people on this site that I decided this was the way I wanted to go. Thanks again.

Someone may yet come along more able to answer you than me. It may be worth phoning the BLF helpline and speaking to one of the nurses. They will definitely be more knowledgeable than me. Best wishes to you.

Are you meaning is it safe for you to have the vaccine then with those health problems? I don’t know your answer... you would need to check with your GP or hospital doctors.

Thank you. The doctors "said that there is no interaction with the medication that I am on which is Ciprofloxacin" and that if I didn't feel too bad on the day and no temperature to probably have it, so I was wondering if anyone else has had the same.

They're probably offering it to you because you're a very vulnerable person - I'd be biting their hand off!

Thank you.

Hi, I don't have emphysema but I do have severe bronchiectasis and am colonised with pseudomonas. I was talking to my consultant last werk because they have been investigating why I had a bleed before xmas. She asked me if I had my vaccination. I told her not yet (just 70) and she told me MAKE SURE YOU DO!!!I hope that helps you and your doc.

You need to check with your doctor or check when you go for the vaccine. There was also a doctor on duty at the vaccination centre when I went. I have various health issues ( lung disease, kidney disease, auto immune disease etc)and was told all the more reason why I should have it !

I would think it's very important you do have the vaccination, some protection against dreadful Covid. Good luck! X

I have bronchiectasis and had vaccination this week. Very unwell the next day but fine the day after. I did ask my consultant his opinion and he said ‘definitely yes’. Joy x
