In 2012 I had pleurisy pretty bad. Since then I've always had the stabbing pain when ever I lie on my right side(pleurisy side) for a duration of time.
Spoke to my doc and they said that it could be scar tissue. Has/does anyone else have this issue?

I have had numerous episodes of pleurisy and I can empathise with your situation regarding stabbing pains after laying down. Unfortunately I also have costochonditis and a chronic pain syndrome which confuses the picture to some degree. If your doctor as eliminated other causes then it could be caused by scar tissue in the surrounding plural tissue. Your doctor used the word "could". Personally I would ask what other possibilities there could be for your pain.
Compared you yourself mine is nothing!! Though I am going to ring them tomorrow as it is getting annoying now to say the least.
Thank you for your reply, you have been a wonderful help 😊
I had similar pains after pleurisy then pneumonia .I had to pad my mattress with a spare duvet .
Pleurisy pain is worst than anything else I have ever had before, I still get pain in the left side and struggling now after recent chest infection over new year, lying on it does help
I rang the doctor today and asked about scar tissue, I also have asthma but that feels completely different to what I'm having at the moment.
He said it could very well be scar tissue but with temperature change, having a cold, to a degree even asthma. I've got to ring back in a couple weeks as an update and depending on if I'm still in pain, I'm having an x-ray.
