Clumsy & Coughing

Oh lung buddies feeling sick & tired of feeling sick & tired . Coughing has given the intercostal muscles a rough ride but where I used to take ibrupropen as well as codeine can't touch them now as a big No No with Nephrotic Syndrome.

So having fallen off the bed the other day in haste not to get sudden nosebleed mess on bedding last night managed to splash both hands with boiling water from the kettle😔 Blame tablets for jerky movements & lack of sleep.

Positive thing is have a baby Buzzard to watch in the fields 😍

Lovely picturesque photo shouty. Some of our health problems can definitely impact on our wellbeing. I know how coughing can wear you out as I cough a lot because of the bronchiectasis I have. Speak to your doctor, surely there's something he/she can give you to make life easier.Xxx

I sympathise with you over the ibrufen. I used to take Naproxen for Pain, when diagnosed with ILD told not to take it any more.Ithink it reduced the-inflammation caused by lupus.

Perhaps peak to your GP about the coughing.

I don’t know anything about. BRonchectasis,Carbocysteine thinsthe mucusand enables me to cough it up.

Perhaps you could put a towel under your pillow,so that you don’t have to rush if you have a nosebleed..

I appreciate what you say about sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Take care.

Beautiful picture, thank you. I understand what you say about coughing, I sometimes cough so much that I have difficulty breathing. Could you put something waterproof over your pillow with say a towel over that so that you are not so worried in case you have a nosebleed? Do please take care. I hope life improves for you very soon.

Thank you for the great picture 🦅 I hope things start to improve for you soon. I was interested (not the right word) to read about your nosebleed. Do you know what caused it? Every day for about 3 or 4 weeks I've had a nosebleed, sometimes just a trickle for a few minutes, other times it's a great flood that won't stop. I've no idea why this has started, if it's a mineral I'm deficient in, or due to tiredness or the cold weather, or caused by coughing. It's getting tiresome now though. Sending you lots of good wishes and I hope you start to feel better soon.

I like the medical word for nosebleed : Epistaxis Do you take antihistamines regularly as that can dry out your nasal mucus membranes. Same if the air quality around you is hot and dry.

I think I have a small nasal polyp but also it could be due to having Covid

Having a infection can cause them too. & if you are coughing it may be a little burst blood vessel . Are you on blood thinners at all? Sorry you've had for a while. Might be worth giving your GP a call. Take care of yourself, Hattie

Thanks for your caring reply. I’m not on blood thinners but am anaemic which may be an unrelated fact. The air quality is cold and damp so that shouldn’t be an issue but I do take antihistamines. You take care of yourself too 💐

Thinking of you Shouty, its so tiring coughing all the time. I go through periods of having a mild cough to a hacking cough and nothing seems to help. Although I sometimes take oregano oil when it gets too bad and that does help. Hope you hands are getting better x

Hello & sorry to hear you are struggling so much it so tiring & disheartening. Have you any support from McMillan Nurses. My dear friend got a lot help both practical & medical. The main thing that helped her breathing immensely ( she had End Stage Emphysema but despite the Care Package being called Palliative care and lived 2 more years amazing her GP) was Oramorph. Although it made her a little drowsy at times it calmed & relaxed her chest muscles so breathing was a lot easier.

Do you take Carboysteine at all. I'm on it twice a day & it loosens the mucus by making it less sticky.

You can also contact the British Lung Foundation Helpline - 03000 030 555 - is available to anyone living in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, providing guidance on how to manage and live with your condition.

There is also the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation on Health Unlocked.

Hope this of some help

Best wishes Hattie
