I am on Nintedanib as I am an IPF patient and am type 2 diabetic. I take my medication with breakfast. I have fruit & porridge for b/fast but sometimes get diarrhoea. Any other recommendations for breakfast please to try to avoid the diarrhoea?

I am on Nintedanib for IPF. What’s best for breakfast?
My nurse educator who instructed me on how best to take Ofev to prevent the common side-effect of bowel issues said to eat a healthy portion of protein each time you take the medication. In the morning, I have my largest meal which consists of two pieces of bacon, two eggs, a pc of buttered toast one cup of coffee. I take 2 Ofevs daily, 12 hrs. apart. Just before taking the 2nd dose, I eat a piece of beef, chicken, pork, or turkey the size of my palm, steak, meat loaf, burger. It is, she said, very important to have the protein with the first and second daily dose. I hope this helps. J
I am diabetic as well and unfortunately have been suffering with side effects from this drug. Diarrhoea being the worse. I cannot tolerate dairy with the drug so I have a non diary alpro yoghurt, which contains protein followed by dry granola for breakfast. I tried eggs etc but made me sick. I have tried to eat as much as possible before taking Ofev but now find it hard. I am now on my 2nd two week break from the drug.
I hope you can tolerate it, my fingers are crossed for you. Take care
I meant to say, I was told not to worry about diabetes as it was more important to get the Nintedanib into my system and when I had got used to it, try and reduce sugar again. Alpro and granola contains massive sugar, but only breakfast I can tolerate.
I find Lizzi's granola the lowest in sugar, it contains small amounts of black treacle and rapeseed oil for the crispness and no fruit just seeds which I chew well.
As for the diarrhoea, a French medical herbalist told me of the benefits of finely grated apple - we lived in Africa for years so it was a regular problem. It was miraculous, particularly with the children and babies in nappies where results were 'visible! Might be worth a try for you both. P 🙏
I often eat a boiled egg and toast as well as porridge. So far so good re my tablets!
What are the ingredients in porridge? J
The main ingredient of porridge is oatmeal. I make my porridge with milk.
